Im using 2006 autocad and just switched to 2017 and its mind blowing how they almost kept it same and simple

how come when I try to draw my graph uses huge units like when I type 30 I get a tiny line but when you do it you get a big one and im on the same zoom

Hello anyone who was having a problem with not being able to draw a door or window to the wall of the house, please press F6 and your dynamic UCS should come on to let you do it.

how do you draw on the z axis... i cant draw the door

To be able to draw the door you need to open the 3D status bar and activate "allow dynamic UCS". Took med 30 minutes to find it....

Yeah, i can't get past making the door. I'm not sure why, but when i create it, it goes up the Y axis instead of the Z axis. It is so frustrating trying to figure out how to fix this.

Everything was going fine until I tried to draw the door @ 8:43. If I click the bottom line of the building pad to start the door, it draws it on the X,Y plane, or across the floor. In order to draw it vertically, or on the wall, I have to click the top line of the building pad. What is going wrong? When you drew it, you mentioned there's a little green tool of some kind. I can't see it in the vid. Are you referring to a snap tool of some kind? I have snaps on, with active snaps being Nearest, Perp, Endpoint, Midpoint, Center, Quadrant, Midpoint and Extension. I guess I can draw the door starting from the top of the building pad and then just move it down 1 unit but that takes an extra step and the whole objective for me is to learn how to take extra steps out of the drafting process. so another question. tried drawing in the door but whenever i try starting from the base it automatically snaps to one the corners of the house. is there a setting im suppose to turn off

The polyline ruined everything. I couldn't extrude upward because autocad didn't like the polyline
