He actually did......or the original guy did. Because there was a book in the back of rock magazines from before Metallica put out any music called "The Encyclopedia Metallica". That book was first published in 1980. So now you know. Edit: the first time I remember seeing the ad was around 1982. It was either in the back of Creem, Circus or Hit Parader.

I remember an interview from 1984 where Dave was still mad at Metallica and said Huge Tanner wrote "Hit the lights and Motorbreath and didn't get credit for it. I wrote it off on Dave still being mad for them taking his music but then when Metallica had their big anniversary show they brought Huge Tanner on stage and James said Huge wrote motorbreath with him but in the credits its only listed as "Hetfield" so Dave was right. Hit the lights wasn't ever officially proven but motorbreath was by James own admission. They stole credit from Huge Tanner, they stole all Dave's songs, they stole the band name. Wow.

@wes8075 they didn't steal Dave's music clown he is credited on all six songs he CO WROTE. it doesn't matter if he said not to use it or not he didn't fully create the songs he co wrote others contributed to what the songs became so Dave can't just say don't use this music it doesn't work that way. As long as he's credited on them and receives royalties, which he does and always have, there is no "stealing" to it. People just love to repeat the same stupid bs like blind sheep.

They were road warriors long before they had any radio support or MTV support they were earning their stripes and they deserve everything that has came their way.

Hes probably alluding to the fact that Dave Mustaine claims that Lars doesn't deserve writing credits for certain kill em all songs. But that has nothing to do with writing the drum parts of songs. A lot of bands dont consider drum parts to be essential parts of the song, so they don't get writing credits for it. Look up megadeth album credits and you'll see the drummers rarely credited, even though they all wrote their own parts. In Metallica you get a writing credit for writing a riff or contributing to the composition. Solos, drums, bass, lyrics don't get you a writing credit. All that to say, this dude probably misinterpreted what Dave said and came the conclusion that Lars didn't write his drum parts, when in reality, he did.
