it was a true pleasure to hand the guitar to him, and see his reaction. truly a good human being.

That guitar has been played by one of the greatest songwriters of the 60s/70s as well as one of the best from today’s era. I know pilots are rockstars in their own right, especially back then, but if one of Dylan’s or even better IMO Isbell’s guitars just fell in my lap I’d feel like I was destined to play it.

No one will ever be as cool as Jason Isbell playing Little Wing on Bob Dylan’s Newport Folk Fest fender strat

He could afford to buy it now. If it was for sale.

Jason's a great talent and obviously knows his guitars. He holds this instrument with such reverence and plays with such craft. I love his reaction when asked to play a song on this guitar at 2:09 - "I'd really rather just noodle" - Noodle on Jason!

First riffs on Dylan's legendary guitar? Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Love to see Jason geeking out on the gear.

I'm so glad I found this. Jason is an incredible singer/songwriter and it's nice to see him finally being recognized for the great guitarist that he is. Him playing Jimi at the end is fkn awesome!
@msspi7648 жыл бұрын
Like any of us, he noodles around with it, getting to know it better, and he slides right into Little Wing. So cool.

He is absolutely amazing. The genuine appreciation and humbleness shown as he see's,holds ,noodles the guitar is refreshing!instead of singing a song he humbly declines and as if it was Hendrix himself glorifies the fine instrument bringing it to life. He is already hall of fame and I'm my opinion when it is all said and done he will go down as 1 of if not the greatest artist of all time. A true triple threat with his great vocals , masterful guitar skills, and a lyrically epic writer second to none. He is simply the best
@mrjasondylan7 жыл бұрын
I think your forgetting a certain mr Dylan and Kristofferson when your talking second to none as a songwriter and i know Jason would totally agree with that statement. As good as he is he still has a long long way to go to get anywhere near those two legends.
@jukebox2120036 жыл бұрын
I humbly disagree Jason. Although it is extremely difficult to compare any modern artist to legends who have been put on a pedestal, I would put Isbell's songwriting on par with those two. He may not go down in history as favorably but only because his style of music is not as popular today as Dylan's and Kristofferson's were in their hay day. One only has to listen to songs like Elephant, Vampires and Speed Trap Town to get a firm grasp on his lyrical abilities.
@yesmamnosir79973 жыл бұрын
@@jukebox212003 agreed. In fact I prefer Isbell over Dylan and Kristofferson. He’s the reason I mostly write alt-country music almost all in drop-d. I love both of those artists but God Damn Lonely Love is my favorite song of all time.
@Caperhere Жыл бұрын
@@jukebox212003 Music was more important to people in their day. I’m not a guitar player, but I’ve read people who were backing up Dylan’s leap to electric say he didn’t have a clue how to play it. The same can’t be said about Isbell.

If I walked into a party full of naked supermodels and somewhere in that party Jason Isbell was playing Jimi Hendrix on Bob Dylan's guitar I would be standing in front of him completely oblivious to the rest of the party

If I was in this position I'd be just as blown away as Isbell but then let everybody down as I worked through a G chord, D chord, C chord, and back to a G. Lol I wish I could play half as well as Jason.
@yesmamnosir79973 жыл бұрын
Just keep at it. All guitar players must start somewhere. Music theory and circle of 5ths are always gonna help and are relatively easy to learn.

@@Allagi22 you know what the secret is to getting w? The other post said it. There’s no secret. It’s never giving up. It takes time and hours and patience. Repetitive playing until it becomes second nature. If you give up you’ll never experience the best thing I ever did for myself. Good luck.
