Like with the Braids, some algorithms need a trigger to work properly else the sound is not produced correctly (generally all sounds needing an "exciter" in real world, drums, modal strings...). Try using the trigger for these algos and you'll hear the difference ! By the way, thanks for the demo !

@ranzee Have you noticed that the Morph control introduces glide/slew on the Waveshaper/Wavefolder mode with the latest firmware? The documentation says that it controls waveform symmetry, but that only works on Out 2 for me. Not sure if this is intended, or if it's just mine...

I haven't - I also need to use the Brains some more, but I've been side-tracked with other gear since.

0:15 Such gorgeous scenery paired with a top-notch overview of "Brains"! It's beyond humbling that a creator I've long admired would take direct inspiration from my own content 😘

Cheers Rocco! If you're interested - this is Herdsman Lake in Perth - I filmed it just after we had some major rainfall (hence why the path was flooded).

Hi Ranzee, first I will say that you made a perfect overview of Behringer Brains! Thanks a lot! I had to wait a long time for the module (ordered August 2021) After yesterday's delivery and testing, there was some disappointments: 1. the manual - terrible bad, Beringer could have saved himself the small paper! 2. Problems playing the module chromatically. Why? There is no hint or indication that the small FM controller must be exactly in the middle position and therefore has an influence on the V/Oct input. (Default: far left) Why doesn't have the small controls a snapping center position?!? 3. partial dropouts by waveforms, when working with the timbre, harmonics and morph controls. Didn't you notice that? 4. Brains cannot be updated with the actual synthtribe app (I'm using an iMac 27' with macOS High Sierra). So far, I havn’t had any problems updating the B-2600 and B-ProOne. Cheers Pit

I think if you check out the Mutable Instruments site you can find much more info about the Brains - because it is a clone of the Plaits :) The manual for that will help you out immensely! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for showing how to access the 8 octave range. As usual, Behringer's documentation is sorely lacking.

btw if you hit the trig in with a spike when in the vocal that is how you get it to talk words - without that trigger you just get the sounds, using trig in alongside the outs going to envelopes alters a lot of what we hear

is the audio directly recorded from the output?

Through a VCA and into a Mixer. The video explains the connections. Sometimes I add effects. All in the video :)

@@JoseAngelMorente My walk in the park was intro recorded on my phone - but the rest of the video (all the sounds of the Brains) was recorded directly into the mixer - information in the video is here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g5OaatmDmOC1nqM.html

They are beautiful. It's hard to believe, but the day I filmed that was in the middle of winter and we'd just had the wettest month on record. There was a break from all the rain, the sun came out - it was sublime!

Not sure as the ETA. Mine was supplied to me by Behringer for review. I've been told that people who purchased theirs in the EU are shipping now. Perhaps it won't be much longer for us here in Australia.
