The Behringer Model D is an homage (or clone, depending on your point of view...) to the classic and legendary Minimoog Model D.
Behringer's main achievement, aside from creating a faithful and great sounding synth, is pricing it at $300. In this video I review some of the "cons" of this synth, and the many "pros" that make it a very enjoyable synthesizer, including three oscillators, a classic ladder filter, 5 modulation sources, two envelopes, two LFOs and a small but capable set of patch points.
Gear used alongside the D:
The Arturia Keystep
Cremacaffe Kosmo stand
NOTE: Occasionally I’ll try out affiliate marketing and include affiliate links. This means that I may earn a commission when you click on or make purchases via affiliate links. The content of this clip is entirely my opinion, and was not paid for or dictated in any what by the company creating the gear. Without addressing the particulars of products shown here as they might be under NDA, gear shown on this channel may be either sent by the manufacturer, on loan for review or bought at a discount.

Question for you. Does this synth need a keyboard to create sound. I can’t play piano. I was wondering if I just plug into a computer will I be able to produce sound?

Dass das Lernen auf diese Art und Weise in den meisten Fällen informativ ist und Spaß macht muss ich wahrscheinlich nicht extra erwähnen.

I bought a model d second hand like a year ago as I was hoping to get into synthesizing (I'm a guitar player). Anyway, fast forward a year later and In finally figuring out the model D. I figured out how to get some amazing sounds on my own after messing around with it for an afternoon, but this video is incredibly informative. Yes, although the model D is pretty intuitive, such that some nob like myself can figure some things out, this video is amazing. Thank you so much! Fantastic job, homie!

Great synth, I love how it's juuust easy enough to get to grips with if you're new and the fact that there aren't any presets make this a really good learning tool I think. I'm still on the fence whether to put an overlay on it with more universal/modern terms though.

I own a model D for a few months now. Mine turned out to be a semitone out of tune as well. As a first-time synth owner I was a bit scared to do it myself but after watching Behringer's tutorial video 15 times to be sure that i'm doing it right, it actually turned out to be very easy to do it. I didn't use a voltmeter or anything. I just used a screwdriver and Ableton's tuner to fix it. It was actually pretty easy. It's a pretty good learning synth. 3 osc, noise, and the nice filter allow you to do a lot of things already. Eventually the need for a polyphonic synth arisen and when I heard about Poly D, I actually got pretty excited. But when I heard the price I changed my mind and ordered a deepmind 12 instead.
