People don’t get that behringer pedal enclosures have a soft momentary switch under the hood of the enclosures. Just like Boss for buffered bypass and silent bypass operation. Even if you were to put all your weight on a behringer pedal by jumping on it. The heavy spring that’s next to the momentary switch will counter your weight. That being said it’s almost impossible to break Behringer pedals unless you’re being utterly careless and abusive to the pedal while playing live, if that’s happening then I recommend taking a chill pill before every set so you don’t damage your behringer pedals or anyone in the audience… Even if you broke the lid of the enclosure the pedal would still function the same because the soft touch momentary flip flop switch would still be perfectly in tact. Giving you any opportunity to fix the lid. Or spend 25 bucks for a new one. Rehousing a pedal into a metal enclosure could be risky because you have to remove / replace the pots on a double sided circuit board (unlike boss) And some circuits ( chorus , analog delay vibrato and flanger) can generate loud clock noise from being placed into a metal enclosure. When the designer of that circuit didn’t design the circuit with metal enclosures in mind. For all buffered pedals or behringer pedals I recommend bringing a true bypass loop pedal to your gigs and assign one for each behringer pedal. Leave the Behringer pedals always on and use the true bypass loop to bring your Behringer effects in and out of the chain of your pedals in series or put the pedals on your amp and use your hand if you are so prone to going mad crazy on stage as to where no plastic enclosure is safe. Hope these tips can help you in your decision making. And remember a $30-$40 pedal is much easier to replace than a $90-$400 pedal. Boss super chorus is great! In my opinion the berinnger will get you places, but it’s pales in comparison to the super chorus especially an analog pre 2001 super chorus. The stereo effect on the behrinnger didn’t fully mix out dry from wet. The eq was terrible, the buffer is worse. The yellow is hideous. The boss Super Chorus is the 4th best Boss Chorus , and the 2nd best stereo Chorus in my honest opinion. The best stereo Chorus that boss offers is the Boss Ce-2w Fresh, yet vintage tones. For mono chorus any will do. But the Boss Ch-1 is best for both due to its level control, eq, wet dry routing , and better buffer than the Ce2 and more headroom then the terrible Ce5

Clone?! Not so much to my ears. But I totally agree that behrinnger made this pedal to copy boss. But the circuits are still very different in cost and sound

@@Pedalheadshow that makes sense, i use it on bass to emulate type o negative's bass sound (boss ds1 into boss super chorus is their bass sound) and it works perfectly for bass. I use it with the level, the tone and the depth all the way up and the rate at like 1 o'clock. It turns the volume up and makes it sound really tight too. My band has a song that repeats a note all the time in the intro and this two notes are highlighted by turning an ultra chorus for those notes, my guitarist uses a distortion into an RP50 with a chorus/reverb program into the uc200 set with that level boost and an almost maximum rate... it's such a great pedal, definitely more lo fi and very underrated

@@lucaserojas that’s awesome ! Thanks for sharing that with me. Type O negative is an awesome band. For gain staging I recommend this approaching the tone and level knobs All knobs at 12 First think if you want warm or spacey. Lower to the left is more ce2 like But when you bring the tone back it’s a little harder to hear the chorus effect so that’s when you bring up the mix level or the effect. So the effect level knob was put there to help resurface the chorus sound. And the tone is a filter that reduces highs when you turn to the left. Rate and depth are self explanatory. Setting rate for 10 o’clock And depth from 1-3 o clock is a great chorus sound. You have to be careful with your controls on a chorus pedals. Too much depth and rate is a warbly Vibrato/univibe sound. That not subtle To little rate and high depth gives you a slow flanger sound. Rate past 3 o’clock and depth at all the way is an intense flanger sounds. I find since the super chorus part wise is a combination of the Ce-2 Ce-3, and Bf-2 flanger. Mostly stalking about the IC chips. I love the Ch-1 because it’s so versatile. Has the same bbd chip set as the Ce-2. Cross talk stereo out. The output B jack works like a vibrato switch. The effect level compensates for the clean signal being lost. The tone knobs is great for achieving different chorus characteristics. But the weird thing is… that with the settings at those flanger like settings that I mentioned earlier. The flanger sounds IDENTICAL to how I use my Boss Bf-2 Mit Flanger (Little to no Res.) So boss Ch-1 is a great little unit. Ill be making a video on chorus pedals from the 80s. And comparing the ones I have. Please check it out when it’s out!
