Everything on the Bell Super 3r feels very premium. I ride lots of standard trails areas in Wales and the South of England, but also ride Bike Park Wales. It's has't caused me any concern and that coupled with a comfortable fit makes it the perfect match. Cheaper than some makes on the market it also hits par on the price tag.
Lots of colours shemes to choose from and sizes that will fit all.
Thumbs up for this helmet. I use this for all my styles of riding now. It really is the go-to helmet.

As a beginner, I feel like safety is one thing that you should spend your money on. Definitely going to get one.

MIPS reduces the rotational energy transmittal to the brain, its not to reduce the impact itself as energy absorption in the normal force direction. I have it on my Bell MC helmet. One reason why I want this one. I also like the removable chin bar!

Took me a while to figure out how to remove the visor. Turns out you need to pull hard. Then grease the hole so next time you don't have to pull so hard.

Downhill isnt detachable. So a lot of money just for that reason. At least with this you'll have a choice.

More heavy duty. Removable means it'll be a weak point, so while it'll protect better than not having one, if you're riding hard, might want the dh one. At least that's how I see it.

Thanks for the review, good stuff , questions ,can you slip sunglasses on and off without difficulty ?, if so is it painful some helmets are so tight in that area. How much in pounds would you say it weighs ? Thank you 😁

It's very light bud for what it is. Not sure exactly. Yes you can wear glasses easily as I put mine on most times.

Great, detailed review! Do you still own it? I heard complaints that the helmet is noisy (crackling sounds from the chin claps), did you experience any noises?

Just seems perhaps a little stronger in the connection points and the shape. Otherwise the extra £50 increase. Lol

Super DH is ASTM downhill certified, Super 3R is not.

How does the visor lock in place? My current helmet visor flops up and down when I’m riding fast. One of the many features I hope to improve with a new helmet.

Its all attached properly and held in place with the 2 plastic nuts. Very good

@@MikesMTBAdventures my grammar is garbage I know :D I have bought the bell super 3r yesterday without the chin/jaw guard for about 70€ (saved like 40€). I had no clue that I could have bought this helmet completely, thus I don't need 2 separate helmets. Tryed my best with this one. And of course this was an awesome review
