The Belstaff Crosby jacket is back and here to stay. Belstaff have perfected one of its most popular jackets and it has now reached its final form. Thankfully, the style hasn't changed: the Crosby is still a classic, four pocket, mid-lenght jacket that sits in Belstaff's range between the short Brooklands and the longer, belted Trialmaster.
What has changed is the material: the Crosby is now made from an upgraded waxed cotton called TekWax. TekWax is a new innovation that uses high grade synthetic fibres intertwined with Belstaff’s high quality cotton to obtain an abrasion resistant fabric that achieves an A rating in the new CE Abrasion & Tear tests. It does this without adding bulk and sacrificing its light weight or the classic Belstaff style. Using the synthetic fibres in the weaving process means the fabric does not rely on thickness to provide exceptional abrasion resistance. D3O CE certified Level 1 armour is included in the elbows and shoulders and offers excellent impact absorption and there is of course a pocket for you to add an optional back protector.
Its Tekwax construction means the new Crosby is a sturdy, yet not overly heavy jacket. The outer layer will keep mild rain out because of its waxed nature, but should you get stuck in heavier rainfall, the Crosby has a breathable yet completely waterproof Miporex membrane underneath.
Like all Belstaff jackets, the attention to detail on the Crosby is unrivalled. Of course there are the four deep patch pockets closed by a waterproof flap with snap buttons, an adjustable collar, shoulder and elbow reinforcement patches and an adjustable waist. The jacket is closed by virtue of a sturdy zip running down the middle and an overlaying flap with aged metal snaps buttons to keep out the wind and rain. Further care has been taken by Belstaff to protect your bike's fuel tank from scratches too with the two bottom snaps being made from rubber.

current Belstaff sizing guide suggests that a Large is max 40.25 inch chest (quoted in the video is L = 42 inch chest). your mileage may vary. luckily Belstaff has a pretty generous returns policy. thanks for the review!

Slanted pocket harks back to ISDT days - it was your map pocket - so easy in and out between stop and go.

Here in San Francisco where it rains less often and is more humid - - the miporex just makes the jacket really hard to wear in whichever season. I have a couple of Crosby’s from various years.

Belstaff Crosby Motorcycle Jacket - Outer shell is TekWax - 65% polyester 35% cotton. Really - should be called waxed polyester not waxed cotton.

Belstaff have absolutely done the right thing here by slightly increasing the jackets wax weight to 8oz! I would have liked to have seen the two main front pockets being expandable also but it still looks great. Do the poppers on the front have the little 'finger gap' behind them to aid in popping up the jacket like on the Pro? (apologise, I'm not sure what their correct terminology is for it)!?? And is it black only?

Hey Steve there is a gap between each section of the popper which reveals the inner zip, it should not be an issue with a gloved hand to undo and re do. The jacket does also come in a mahogany. - UR

Great review of this jacket. I was going to purchase one as I am now a fair weather rider these days and I am looking for a jacket that doesn't look like a rider jacket when off the bike. But then belstaff went and came out with the technical jacket Chris wore on the latest long way up. Now I am confused. Is the jacket Chris wore overkill for my personal needs?
