Interesting casting, I'm a huge fan of Ben Affleck one of my favorite actors next to Jim Carrey and Robin Williams. I love his portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman but I do agree that he deserves better. I also love that Daredevil Movie he did

If this happens, he'll be the third Batman actor to play a villain in the MCU, like Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Christian Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder. And even funnier, he played Daredevil.

I've never seen Ben Affleck as a bad guy type.

He can still be Daredevil in a brief appearance or small role in Secret Wars/Deadpool and still be Doom. Doom has his mask on most of the time and I assume he will have it on more often than not in the MCU too so it can still work.

Traditionally Reed Richards have been portrayed as roughly the same age and Pedro Pascal and Ben Affleck are close enough in age, I’d say. But after Ben Affleck seemed to want to drop out of playing Batman, would you want to have him be a major franchise player?

Im a huge Doctor Doom fan. Got posters, toys, comics of the guy as a kid, been listening to Madvillain (inspired by him), Fantastic Four the animation in 94 was my first introduction to him, I discarded him in live action even though my babe Jessica Alba is on those films😘😘😘...hear me out hear me out. If we get an announcement that Ben Affleck has been cast as Victor Von Doom. I'm going to end my life.

Doom at least needs to be a racial minority, not just "European", because that's the whole point of his origin, as an ethnic South Asian persecuted by Europeans - so if ppl are ok w Ricardo Montalban as Khan, an Indian character, then I'd say Javier Bardem is the best choice among the big names mentioned - his acting in a role like that would be fantastic, and at least we could buy his backstory, at least as much as w Montalban - and Bardem would be popular, especially now - but please no Affleck lol

Affleck may be the worst name mentioned so far - One thing different about Dr Doom is that he's so beloved and iconic a villain AND he's been screwed up so many times, so many fans are looking to the MCU specifically to FINALLY bring us a version true to his roots - has Affleck ever even played a non-American role? Why court such backlash, when they could knock this out of the park? At least the other actors mentioned had an Old World quality - what is it about South Asian characters that attracts this whitewashing? Doom is South Asian in the same way that Luke Cage has African background - are they going to bring Tom Cruise to play them? Bollywood is the biggest film industry in the world - they can't find an Indian actor? Or a Desi British stage actor from the RSC? Almost none of the Black Panther stars were actually from Africa, but at least they didn't cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Killmonger - Dr Doom could be a whole franchise, like Loki, and Hiddleston was an unknown actor, perfectly cast - Doom is also distinctive because his ethnicity is so central to his character - his parents were killed because of racist persecution, and his whole childhood was spent fighting racism - this isn't the 60s; Hollywood has evolved, and the MCU has been leading the way in respecting this kind of diversity - I actually didn't mind Michael Jordan playing Johnny, but ethnicity is so central to Doom - fans will be jubilant if he's done right Affleck is a good actor, and his Batman was excellent, and I like the idea of a heroic leading man actor playing Doom, in terms of charisma - but this is a poor match in terms of any direction they'd want to develop this character - Doom is a character I'm sure the MCU will want to cultivate thoroughly, and use in many projects - Affleck could be a good villain, but casting him as Doom is a dead end Let them look at Doom's famous and well-documented backstory, and work from there to see how to fully tap this character's potential and how to cast him - Doom and Latveria could be the MCU response to today's Eurasian integration and BRICS, in the same way that the MCU Namor was to indigenous peoples, and the MCU T'Challa and Killmonger were to Pan-Africanism
