Iam here in August 2021. Ben wants "a relationship that is deeply meaningful and one to which he can be deeply committed." Then he went on to date Anna Armes. That was not the one. Then he went back to JLO. It is clear that that relationship may be what he was looking for. I watch them as much as possible. Love that they seem to be deeply in love. It is rare these days.

I'm 7 months sober after 30 years of partying and I've never felt better, calm, relaxed, happy, healthy. It's men like Ben, Brad and Robert who have quit too that make it easier for me because seeing them overcome their struggles helps me overcome mine.

Jlo is good for him, she doesn't drink. With her he'll have a healthy , sober and happy life...

Now that him and JLo are back together I think they were kinda always meant to be. Sometimes there's just that one special love that is different from all others, a soul mate. Sobriety is an everyday decision. As one of my favorite celebrities said (Craig Ferguson), “you’re not in recovery if you don’t relapse”. What matters is that you keep making an honest effort to protect your health, mentally and physically. I hope Affleck remembers that if he “falls off the wagon” again. Just gotta get back on!

That is so true. Regret robs hope for the future. It can be so hard to let go of regrets when in the deep of depression.

Love this. He got very real. Theres a high percentage of addicts who also have a mental health issue called dual diagnosis. It makes sense they go together...like depression and addiction, which I have with PTSD. We numb up when we cant cope. Im so happy to hear him come through. He broke the cycle of substance abuse. Best gift he could ever give his kids.

When u have unlimited resources living in sobriety is difficult. Mind will naturally want to pull you back to that dark alley. I personally believe the trick is to always exercise yourself physically/mentally occupied working out reading cooking directing any hobby like he mentioned here. I myself is riding that sobriety bus and I like it!

People come into themselves at 50. He is on the right path and track: his priorities are on point, his children, being a good dad, being a good role model for them, seeking a meaningful and committed relationship, his wellbeing,... We decide what is important to us and determine the meaning we bring to our experiences and to our life and how we choose to live it. Every decision we make moving forward is evaluated against those priorities and our deepest reason for being here on this planet. For those who struggle deeply, that depth and the meaning we gain from that depth is the greatest gift we have to give. Giving what we have to give is often the next step forward as our purpose and is the path to healing and to creating a deeply meaningful life. Giving is spreading love, empathy, compassion, understanding, even gentleness, and more kindness into the world. Whatever Ben will choose it will come from the heart.

He said at the end he wanted to be in a loving and committed relationship within the next 5 years and here we are in 2022 and he has found his way back to his one true love Jlo and they are engaged to be married. I completely empathize with his pain and anxiety. He seems to want to do so well with everything in his life. He has been painted as a villain often by the media, and you can see by his face that he knows that. You can see an underlying tension on his face in every interview because he wants so badly to get past his pain and make light of things to be seen a certain way by the public. I hope there comes a day where he’s happy with himself and not as concerned about what that happiness looks like to the rest of us.
