I really miss so much of the TV from the 1980's and this comedy programme was up there with some of the best tv and this joke was just one of the best "double seat double seat gotta get a double seat.." lol.

I do happen to stay a distance from a railway station but that's not because of privatisation, that's because of Dr Beeching who was hired by the government when the railway was a state-asset.

I've just remembered that when I went to see him in 87ish the warm up was Craig Furguson (bing hitler) about a 100 times funnier!! Has his own chat show in the states now.

Saw him myself in about 87. I remeber him asking the audience "put your hand up if you hav'nt had a wank, nobody did. His reply was "by your own admission you're all wankers!" He should stick to comedy and stay away from pretentious musicals.

*Brilliant* routine! back from the days when Ben Elton's experiences were relevant to us all. You see the limitation of the right-onness suggesting that privatisation will reduce trains rather than double passenger numbers. Would twelve years of a Labour government improve things? No.

Well l was in a lift once when someone farted and although the sound was pretty funny the stink was awful , a bit like Ben Elton then .

And then small minded people took over.
