I love that the crowd is extremely happy but shuts tf up when he actually starts to sing. Such a beautiful song.

It seems like Ben can't play the guitar as good as he used to... When you listen to the recorded version, the ending part is a lot more virtuoso. However, in every live version on KZfaq, he plays a simplified version. I like his transformation as an artist; I enjoy all of his songs on his records ( from the old ones Old Pine, Every Kingdom up to Noonday Dream and Another Friday night). I'd just like to see him move those quick guitarfingers fast again :)

I will have to check that out. This was late in the show and it was fairly cold so I am not sure if any of that played into it on this night.

@@kjnoll6 Ow I didn't mean this performance particularly, I just meant it as a general statement on most of his new songs. :)

@@Vinniex23z i think thats because there is less focus on the guitar playing in a lot of his new songs

Yeah, like glen gould said: The real masterful playing is not for the audience anyways, but for the artist himself, for the music. We are lucky that he switched the record-button on, when he played the quick and defining arpeggios you are talking about. They do participate a deep strength to the otherwise quite depressing and hopless feel to the song for me, but it just brings you out of your concept if you make a mistake playing them live on stage - so I can understand the simplified version too.
