I love my Ben nevis. The 10 distillery bottle is solid. Some of the older Indi 'single malts of Scotland' expressions are off the hook good.

I have all these three bottles too! I do agree the 6yo one drinks like a bit more older than that, and it has a very clean sherry influence getting a bottle of OB 10yo in Canada sounds like a dream🤣 wish I could get one somewhere in the future

Don’t slate Dram Mor’s pricing, it’s very fair in Europe so don’t get your local taxes and duties mixed up with the RRP of their bottles.

The Ben Nevis 1997 FE was $230 Cad all in and an absolute steal. I bought another before everybody realized what a great deal it is/was and cleaned them out.

Hard to find IBs of Ben Nevis where I live, not to mention the hefty 65€ they ask for a 10yo OB of the same. However, some days ago I found on a small website a 8yo Ben Nevis bottled by Douglas McGibbon's under Provenace label. Distilled in the summer of 2006 , integrity bottling (Ralfy's way) and aged in one refill hogshead. Paid 45€ and got some orchard fruit, syrupy sweet vanilla, nothing fancy, but quite drinkable. I have a couple of those 1993 Aberfeldy G&M 25 yr at 58.8 abv if that's the one you were referring to, it was a good deal at the time about 3 yrs ago.

Trouble with Ben Nevis is availability, even getting hold of the official 10 is more miss than hit this last few years. If I see a Ben Nevis official or otherwise I usually buy it, provided it's sensibly priced, can't say I'm able to keep hold of it long but then scoffing fluid investments is an occupational hazard..... A firm favourite though. The Càrn Mòr Ben Nevis 4 year old of a couple of years back really was excellent, and the now sadly unavailable, unless bought from ruthless flippers, Ben Nevis Batch 1. 10 year old, and yes on face value it did seem quite expensive for a 10 at the time, was a stunner and worth every penny. Always on the lookout for similar.
