ive heard some people say he doesnt like southgate, or he doesnt like football. but does anyone know the real reason he has quit international football? has he given an actual reason? im pretty sure if rashford, de jong or ruben dias quit international football at age 26 there would be questions about them too. its not normal to quit at 26. ive also heard people say he didnt want to sit on the bench? trippier, trent and reece james have all had to sit on the bench and watch kyle walker, its part of the job. joe gomez (also 26) hasnt been in a squad for 4 years but offered the chance to play against brazil at wembley and hes jumped at it. before people blast me for "hating" ben white, im just genuinely curious as to why one of our prime aged players cant be bothered to try and get a place on the plane like everyone else. i mean this isnt like milner or scholes retiring at age 30 with over 50 caps. has ben white really just given up on "his dream" because he doesnt like the assistant manager? whats going on?

If Southgate wanted to play with one of the fullbacks being more advanced, then Trent and White would provide quite a lot, whereas I'm not sure Walker would, particularly on current form.

Despite Southgates boring negative tactics, the players all love him and they all can't speak highly enough of the mood around the camp. It seems clear as day that the problem here is Ben white being a thin skinned cry baby who can't handle sitting on the bench with ramsdale, grealish and Watkins. Why is it that White is supposed to be the bigger man when it's the guys in the coaching staff who showed level of unprofessionalism and instead of trying to rectify their mistake chose to throw White under the Bus. At Arsenal, White has played through injury, played a different position he didn't have prior information on and a new role he never played before because he wanted to contribute to the team, Same with Leeds where Bielsa asked him to play CDM and he played the position even though that isn't his preferred position. When he is managed by actual competent managers, he has shown his quality and given more than he has asked. Why does it fall on him to ignore unprofessional conduct from an incompetent Assistant Manager instead of the FA and the Manager to rectify their mistake. It's one thing to be reprimanded by a figure like Roy Keane who is a legend of the sport and hence commands respect. Next to be reprimanded by someone who never made a single senior appearance at top level and whose greatest managerial achievement is being Chelsea reserve manager.
