A big hi and hello to the rest of the fine folks that tuned in for WW! Man are we having a blast here at Wilson’s and learning lots right along the way! Best vacation ever for me, and it’s a huge hit with Carolina morning to boot! That’s Mrs. C. Gib of 18 years! If you have ever contemplated going to one of Wilson’s classes; don’t sit on your hands! There is 22 years of knowledge right here and it comes from a nice guy that will make sure your expectations are met and exceeded! Can’t say enough positive things about this whole experience! We have a great group of folks here!Long live spurs and all those that love em! C. Gib

great video . i have a couple of questions if you dont mind. what size thickness is the spur band ? what do you recommend the thickness of a spur band to be? thank you for the smiles and laughs. trying to find a press like that. any recommendations on a press like that?

Thank you Ricardo. The bands I use are made from 1/4” but taper to 1/8” from the center to the ends. Most makers use 3/16” with this style. The press is called an arbor press. This one is about 3 tons. Search them on the web and you’ll find lots of options.

Not sure if you’ll get this being an older video but how do you go about making the bands for different size boots? Do you have multiple jigs?

Great channel by the way 👍🏼

So I really don’t change band size for boot size. I have a man’s and a woman’s. There is the extreme case in a size 13-14 mens might need a little longer. EE width requires a different form. Those are wider at the back and have to be shaped properly to begin with.

question for ya, did you have the jig made? if so by who? thanks

Yes sir Jim Poor made them for me. Flatland Forge is the name of his company.
