I'm 6'5 285 always been big. I never really used the shoe unless I had to do exposed work. One day I'm at work and this little guy was like wtf are you doing your bending that shit like a gorilla. But I'm with you after you make the 1st 45° you don't put it on the ground. Then your going to have to go back to adjust your 1st bend.

It's based on geometry it's perfect for a 3/4 do the math.. worka with and bend 10° 22° 30° 45 60...doesn't matter but has to be the same both bends.

Dog legged the shit out of that. Here's a easier method. Marrk you hold off (distance from end of pipe to 1st bend. Then multiply by 2 the hight of the offset. 1"offset =2" so two inches from 1st mark place 2nd mark. Make 1st bend to 30° roll pipe over move to 2nd mark bend at 30° and you're done.

This is a legitimate time saving method if you can be consistent with it. But to me it’s not very accurate especially since he took his 4” measurement from the ground to the top of the pipe.

@McGruber1 Жыл бұрын
Please don't copy this guy. He is completely wrong and definitely doesn't know anything about bending conduit. Flip that bender upside down so the handle is on the ground and then bend your offset or saddle, after you pull measurements. Don't mark your conduit with a sharpie. Use a pencil, the marks come off. Having the bender upside down also allows you to eye your straight offset, help avoid doglegs.

@canadianracer83 Жыл бұрын
Damn boys, it was a joke… and I always bend my offsets and saddles with the least degrees I can to avoid letting the smoke out of the tugger. I’ve worked with people who literally only ever bend 30* or 90* because they are shit at bending. Seriously, they can’t even match existing conduit runs.

Lol it’s when the bends aren’t squared up so instead of the pipe continuing to travel straight after the offset it travels at an angle to the original direction
