Love this. A bit of an unfair comparison of cause. I think what needs to be answered is - is the AT twice as good, as you are paying twice the price. There is something special about being on a cheaper bike and completing everything that the more expensive one does. I purposely buy cheaper bikes because all bike are so good these days that I get buyers remorse when just thinking about something overly expensive. I feel the brand is steeling my hard earned money on an idea that isn’t reality. I also feel resale value and the quickness of selling a cheaper bike is an absolute bonus allowing me to move on when a bike doesn’t feel exciting to ride. Lastly there really is something to be said for riding a small engine fast, that is my favourite thing about bikes and cars.

This was a fantastic comparison. We moved to eastern Kentucky and it's just beautiful and looks like it'd be amazing to ride. I'm really looking to get back into it after more than a decade off. I used to have a 990 adventure in California. I'm looking for a budget bike to get back into it and test the waters without dumping 20k into a gsa. More and more it's looking like the 502x is a perfect budget bike to dip my feet back into it and really enjoy some of the Kentucky scenery. smashed that subscribe button.

Benelli TRK 502X isn't really a worth opponent for African Twin imho. Its all about budget, if you have greater budget AT, or else trk. Simple
