Do the reactants always undergo a breakage process and the products undergo a formation process in any chemical reaction ?

thank you ben for this video, it was really helpful. I have a question, in the example you took at the end of the reaction, what causes the energy released to be greater than the energy absorbed ?

+anthony elenga I read it on my textbook and it's the opposite of what he says, I hope he replies to both of us. * Exothermic: reactants have greater energy than products because remember that the energy was released from the reactants to the surroundings. So the products didn't get it, but the surr did. * Endothermic: products have greater energy than reactants because remember that the energy was absorbed along the process of making the final products. Either that or I'm mistaken. What do I know, I'm just a student learning 'bout this. +Ben's Chem Video's ???

How do we know the amount of energy of release more than absorb?

This video shows the simplest way of explaining endothermic and exothermic. But is there another example that can be used as a demonstration instead of the 'making of ice cream' example?
