This video is a discussion about how stoichiometry can be used to determine the amount of energy absorbed or released by a chemical reaction (i.e. the change in enthalpy) given the quantities of reactants consumed or products produced by the reaction.
Thanks for watching! 😀

CAUTION: This video has a mistake at the end, as several have pointed out in the comments. The correct answer to the problem is -318.3 kJ, NOT -1273 kJ. Apparently I forgot to divide by the "4 mol H_2O" in the last conversion factor. To those who corrected me, thank you SO much! You guys are awesome! -BeN

I think the answer is supposed to be -318.5. I also came up with that same answer and I would like to think 3 people can not come up with the same wrong answer.

Maybe I'm wrong, but should you also include dividing by 4 in the equation? Answer would then be -318.5 KJ.

Why isn't delta H in kJ/mol?

I too got -318.2 ( gyazo.com/776f3eefab9731891da7d121ebe1c40e ) I believe that he forgot to divide by 4 in the second parentheses.
