This whole argument is wild. I can remember debating people over artist like Ras Kass, Pharoh Monch, Talib Qwali, Black Thought, Mad Skillz! It was ok for hood people to not like them but with Em you MUST like him or your racist. That’s the racism people. You HAVE to like Em because he’s white and can rap. Yet you can dislike nice black rappers and say that you don’t like their content. Wow
@tirellv49382 ай бұрын
I agree. People will think you are racist because you dont like eminem. I aknowledged from day one before eminem got famous he has skills along with a sense of humor, but for the most part his subject matter, production wasnt my cup of tea. Ive never let mainstream influence my opinion. Even if my boys an my whole family so happened to like eminem i would still say its not my taste. Ive liked some white m.cs but most of them are indie. Yeah eminem has fans in mainstream that may be true fans, but anyone with any commonsense knows the reason he got so big was because of having skills, association to dr dre "a big name,' and for being white. Its the same thing with justin timberlake, a talented artist who had some hits but he got big mainly by association to timbo so the white fans flooded in from everywhere who may not even had liked r&b music, plus the machine will push a white artist with talent more than they will push a black artist if they feel he may be able to compete with blacks. The other white artist just as good who dont have a big name behind them either in mainstream or indie are never pushed like this. I agree with all those artist you name ill even take hieroglyhics and planet asia over eminem. I need somewhat good production, along with good subject matter for me to like you. Skills is needed to a degree but its never been the main ingredient.

True heads know shit from sugar.

1999: Royce's manager made comments in an interview about Dr. Dre, in which Dre didn't like. Royce defended his manager. Long story short, Dre and his label cut contact with him. This is the first fall-out between Em and Royce as far as I know. They would never be seen together - in freestyles, interviews, on tour - in a long time. 2001: Eminem re-recorded Renegade with Jay Z, cutting Royce's verse from the song 2002: Royce sent a demo verse to D12, regarding Anger Management Tour. D12 took it as a subliminal diss. The feud was ignited. Royce released 3 diss tracks on D12 and Eminem. D12 fired back. (Royce said his diss-verse for Bizarre was already written years ago, because he didn't like Bizarre in particular) 2002 also: Royce escalated the tension by stating that he was going to be at a certain club, on a certain day. All the while, suggesting D12 should come if they wanted to be killed. D12 and Em pulled up to the club; Royce was not there 2003: Royce and Proof encountered one another at a club. The police broke up the fight/confrontation. The two were brought to jail and that night behind the slammer, they squashed their beef (supposedly) 2006: Proof was shot and killed 2007: Royce re-release one of his D12 diss track on his new mixtape 2008: Royce called Eminem "white cr@cker," to disgruntle of Cashis who was signed to Em's label at this time 2011: All of the sudden, Royce and Em is now cool again. They made Bad Meets Evil: Hell the Sequel. Em also signed Slaughter House to Shady Records 2017: Royce's friend and Slaughter House member Joe Budden trashed Eminem's Revival Album. He also voiced his complaint with the way Em runs his label and treats artists 2020: Royce chimed in on Snoop Dogg/Eminem situation, stating that he would take Doggystyle over any Em album. For someone who never worked with or been seen with Snoop, Royce would rather take Doggystyle over anything Em put out. Because of this, Royce's comment came off odd and rubbed off fans the wrong way. -SH_Nostalgia

@@ransom6892 Renegade" was originally recorded by Bad Meets Evil, a hip hop duo with members Eminem and Royce da 5'9". During the recording of Royce da 5'9"'s debut studio album , to be released via Columbia Records, Interscope Records informed Royce da 5'9" that they would only allow one Eminem collaboration on the album, forcing him to choose between two songs the pair had recorded together: the title track and "Renegade". He chose the former, which went on to be released as the album's first single, leaving "Renegade" unreleased for the time being. During an interview on the MTV show in 2011, Eminem revealed that he had initially intended to present Jay-Z with an entirely different production when the latter reached out and asked him to work on : however, Eminem did not have physical access to the reel it was recorded on at the time. Knowing Jay-Z was working to a short deadline, Eminem decided to offer him "Renegade" instead. After Royce da 5'9" granted his approval, Jay-Z recorded his own vocals in place of Royce's and sent them back to Eminem, who mixed them together into the final version of the song.[

@@jamesr2547 I don’t get the point of your latest reply. You go from making the completely false statement “Renegade is a Jay Z song so what you are saying makes absolutely no sense there. It is a Jay song, he put Em on there, how does Royce come into it?” to pasting a Wikipedia entry about the song that is basically parroting what I said. Yeah, I already told you it was Em’s song with Royce that was given to Jay. It’s obvious that you are trying to be argumentative without actually having an argument.

@tonybanzo Dre. has actually only produced about 40 of Em's 300 or so songs and many of them ended up being unsuccessful. A lot of the beats from Eminems "classic" albums came from others like the Bass brothers. The most producing that Dre. did for Eminem was almost every song on Relapse and people hated that album. So, are you saying that a large portion of 50 cents fans didn't come from Eminem? Or are you saying a large portion of Eminems fans didn't come from Dr Dre? If Em could do it with 50, why not a close friend like Royce? Is it because Royce is a more competitive rapper than 50, lyrically speaking? Is it because Royce doesn't fit the mystic of what white fans outside of hip hop think a black rapper is supposed to be like?

If you think anybody's culture hasn't borrowed heavily from others then you are delusional. The whole world is a melting pot. Newsflash, the best beatboxers and breakdancers aren't black and haven't been for decades. The top graffitti artists aren't black either. What else you holding on to? Eminem came into rap and forever changed it and at the same time added to it. He will go down in history as one of the best to ever do it and who knows, maybe the next world famous rapper will be Asian or Hispanic. People or groups of people create ideas or things all the time. Once those things are out in the world, they are everyone's.
