The Bergara is a great accurate rifle that gives you compatibility of the Remington 700 triggers, stocks and rails! It shot very well and I have zero complaints about the rifle.

I've had one for 6 or so months, absolutely love it, one hole groups at 100m with Tennex and SK Long Range, even on a windy day it's easy to stay on target at 300m. Can be a bit of a pain with single round loads (have to at my range) but other than that it's awesome. Bolt and action actually feels better built than my B14 HMR 308.

The big point in this rifle is as a trainer to a centrefire. I compete with a Bergara HMR 6.5 and run the B14R in the exact same configuration. I also hunt with it (HMR: Hunting Match Rifle). If you want the same accuracy as the B14R but at CZ prices, then Bergara are now releasing the BMR. Both the B14R and BMR are also coming in .22WMR and .17HMR shortly. Left hand models also... I also think the price isn’t too bad considering you get the HMR stock (aluminium mini chassis). If you want to put it in a cheaper stock, just buy a barrelled action.

I got a barrelled action just before xmas and couldn't click on this video fast enough to see your review. Now that i've finished watching it, i concur with your comments on the accuracy and magazine function. I've had similar results with SK match. 8/10 will group one tiny hole and the other 2 will be just outside the main cluster. If you're lucky you can put down a phenomenal 5-shot group between the flyers. Both my mags are 100% reliable and extremely easy to load. I would say they are the easiest .22lr magazine i've ever loaded but I do wonder if the spring pressure might be too light and sag over time.

Love your reviews Ozzie. Particularly enjoying the beginner series as a novice shooter. I've pretty much decided on an LA102 due to yoir videos and the fact it's Australian made. However, would love a video on how to choose a good bit of glass or even a basic video on how to choose a good scope or what all the number mean etc. Cheers mate

Yes, its pricy but people seem to forget its designed as a training rifle for Centerfire PRS. That's its primary goal. The precision comes as a bonus. So of Corse it costs more. Identical stock and action profile. There are plenty of .22lr rifles that will easily match it in groups like the CZ457 for example, but you wouldn't use it as a CF PRS trainer...
@sethrich59983 жыл бұрын
The “pricey” comments crack me up considering the only other Rem700 based actions are over $1000 more expensive. This is the value offering. Although I wish CZ would make a 700 to compete with this as well.

Had mine since november 2020. HEAVY trigger (2 1/2 lbs at the best, even with the tension spring removed). Upgrading next week to a Bixn Andy. Same hole groups at 50 (not that hard) but a shotgun at 100 so far. ZERO missfeeds or magazine problems (i have 3 factory mags). Mine seems to like SK flatnose at 50. SK Long Range at 100 but grouping poorly. Hopefully will improve, only put 1k or so rounds through it so far.

I’m with the same decision now. Which one did you choose?
@LosDaniellosB Жыл бұрын
I got myself a CZ but it was mainly a budget decision, I have seen B14 going up ridiculously, at the moment it is 1.5x the price of CZ. I shot 500+ rounds through it, changed factory trigger spring to a lighter one. Supper happy with my choice the gun preforms outstandingly, at 50m it shoots the same hole over and over. It is heavy, well build. Had one issue of discolouring stock, sent it over to CZ, got a new one which already shows some discoloration. I would say the costing is faulty, I assume this is why they no longer sell gray but only black stocks. Strongly recommend as a firearm, one small negative it the gray stock discoloration. Get yourself a black stock.
@mamu679 Жыл бұрын
@@LosDaniellosB Thank you for the detailed reply. I have a Sako TRG 21 in .308 myself and am looking for an accurate .22 rifle that I can shoot nicely indoor at 100 yards. I have to admit that I am torn on whether to buy a CZ 457 LPR or the B14R. The B14R is about 33% more expensive in Germany, but still within my budget. Availability is currently a problem here in Europe, as the Ukrainians buy all the weapons and ammunition they can get. Fortunately both are available, the CZ also in black. I just want the rifle of the two that shoots best at 50 yards and 100 yards.
@LosDaniellosB Жыл бұрын
@@mamu679 I wanted to buy B14 as a trainer to later buy B14 BMR or HMR in 308, same platform. At the end I bought CZ ans Howa 1500 Oryx in 223 ;) Both CZ and B14 perform superbly, look for other channels Cyclop has a Bergara, Pursuit of Accuracy has a CZ. Both doing great. My last advice would be to look what other people around you shoot. Poland being close to Czech Republic is flooded with CZs. If something breaks there are people who can fix it, parts are more available. Not sure about Bergara. 33% proce difference is a lot, you can buy yourself a ton of different ammo and test which shoots the best, by the way my CZ likes SK Rifle Match or SK Long Range Match

@Aaron-mn8gw3 жыл бұрын
@@tun0fun I'd never recommend using a .22lr PRS training rifle as a substitute for the real thing. You'd get more out of dry firing the centerfire rifle then you do shooting rimfire. The only thing you could learn from a training rifle is proper shooting techniques in terms of grip, cheek weld, and body positions. But these are all things that can be done with the centerfire anyway. all the .22 will do is give you a false sense of trigger break, bolt lift and throw. It teaches you nothing about how your bullet will react in adverse conditions or long distant shots where your improper shooting techniques are amplified.

After 1100 rounds and smoothing out the bolt rotation, this rifle remains very difficult to activate the bolt. A little better with Lapua & SK, unbearable with Eley.
