Hello Ramsey. I will start to dream that vintage Azurēe. I'm waiting for my chance to buy it. 6 ours ago I bought two full bottles ; vintage Mechant Loup by L'artisan and vintage Amouage Dia Man (white, non magnetic cap). Both of them are Duchaufour's. That seller also have Gucci Envy in his collection and doesn't like it, so it wouldn't be so bad if I buy that one. Aventus from 2015. (120 ml full) for 600 euros is also in his selling list. He has one vintage L'artisan that you and I would love to buy and that's Traversee du Bosphore ( a leather jacket that was in a candy store ), but for now it's not for sale. I also ordered another shaker Bel Ami, 'cause he said that he can easily find it for me. So the next year will be full of great vintages. Eugen told me that his next release is a woody floral musk. great video dude! tomorrow is a big day lol...got a pre-barcode bottle of youth-dew (the clear one...was a little apprehensive about the aerosol blue bottles even though they go for cheaper) and a bottle of devin coming. the devin is the gentlemans collection because ive given up on finding a reasonably priced vintage. very excited. JHL is a unicorn for me....even the freaking gentlemans collection one is super expensive

All perfume from the Guerlain collection which includes your SoD smell like cheap metallic musk to me - the only note I absolutely cannot tolerate.

Ok, it's up to me then......if anyone's skills, back catalogue and name deserves to be Chanted then it's Bernard's! What? Still no ET?! Sacre bleu! If anything you're missing a link, you're right about Bernard tinkering with his fragrances, a sign of a true artist who still feels he can improve or dare to perfect his art. Kind of brings to mind Mozart who constantly revisited pieces to perfect them e.g. That little ditty The Magic Flute, then had the audacity to improve it by coming out with that catchy number 'Roll over Beethoven'!🤣 It must have taken a lifetime of tinkering ( some say more)! I think the real reason the fragrances were under the counter is that as the fragrances hit hard at the beginning, you'd have customers overspraying which probably would be too much for the counter staff. I've seen it done myself. ( A definite no go area for any fragrance lover with a fragrance allergy)!🤧🤣 As for Classic music pieces the equally awful but in a way wonderful 'Je Suis un Rock Star' always comes to mind when I hear that Eldo fragrance! You need that blah, if you like Opium you'll love blah blah, it lives up to it's name and the lid and label add to the effect. Worthy castoreum releases, cast an eye over at .....👍

the azuree bottles without the extended gold portion i think are just a different concentration. They read "cologne spray concentrate" on the sticker on the bottom, as opposed to "pure fragrance spray"

I loved JHL when it came out; but after 1990, I couldn't find it anymore....which sent me over to Perry Ellis pour homme - which was the best substitute I could find

Great stuff Rams I’m looking forward to this one ,I’m commenting on iPad and watching on TV never a good idea ,I can’t multi task nor focus damn dyslexia,yeah I have it but hey ho here we go hahaha.Got several of the Guerlain orient line ,the Oud one on first impression disappointed me ,but after 15 mins it sits well and lasts a whole day and gets the job done probably a bit like your Santal offerings which I don’t have .Cabochard old formulation bottle style akin to an Opium shape but no built in sprayer or bow on front,I lost the whole sealed bottle in flight it drained completely100ml and was swimming in its packaging, sad day for me so I bought a little 30 ml nineties version as a consolation lol.Aramis line on the whole,soooo good, old and new still holds true for the best part 😊. I would dearly love a vintage J.H.L or even settle for a modern version 😢.great video Rams love em ❤🙏✌️👍

Great installment. I'm a big Chant fan, too; I'm wearing Azurée today, and I recently gave my husband a bottle of Aramis (which he liked a lot). I also love Aromatics Elixir, Beautiful, and probably a bunch of others I'll think of later. I'm putting Cabochard on my wish list to join my collecton of leathery chypres.

I have CABOCHARD BY PARFUMS GRES PERFUME FOR HER EDP.. and I absolutely knew I had smelt it before primarily because my parents were an older generation my father was born in 45, and my grandparents were much older generation. We usually would go to their church when we would visit them on Sundays. And now I know where I smelt this before. The women in that generation born in 1920s to the late 1930s, loved this stuff. And I have to say it’s a fantastic fragrance. To my nose starting off it smells like old books with a little bit of rose. Now, is that a bad thing no. But it definitely does smell a little bit dated. However, I think it definitely can be pulled off by a man. Heck I’m wearing it right now as I watch this video. I think it’s a fantastic fragrance in the 2019 release is what I have and it is amazing. I can’t even imagine what a vintage bottle would smell like.

Ramsey, I love you. All your messages (especially between-the-line social/political ones😉) speak to my brain and soul. I've been stuck in NYC for 12 years now and spending these two last years here made me realize that I'm in the wrong crowd and will never fit in. How do I wish I were in TX or FL or anywhere else more sensible than NYC really - being surrounded by so many idiots really makes one lose all faith in humanity. Never a dull and always an interesting take 👍.... if you do go for aromatics elixir you'll need to make sure it's a vintage as the modern reform has been butchered. Also with cinnabar the pure parfum is the one to go for imo, as I find the edt too soft and fleeting even in vintage form.

I have the 2019 Cabochard and as a woman I'd agree it can definitely pass as unisex, but I'm old enough to remember that it wouldn't have been 30+ years ago. It drives me mad because the opening reminds me of Chanel No5 that someone missed notes from...then it becomes better than No5.

And I have bottles of JHL (newer bottle), New West, Cinnabar and Lagerfeld Classic.

Finally got a decant of Cabochard and am right now test wearing it, with Aramis on one wrist for comparison. The thi g thats strikes me is how DIFFERENT the two are. The amped up warm spicy cumin-esq nature of Aramis really is different. Aramis is much stronger too.

I seen this video before so im rewatching it byt wanted to mention with Cabochard you either have to get a suoer old ine or 2019 and up. Alsi if you still haven't tried Aromatics Elixir its heaven. That one was supposedly restored in 2024 . Meaning like months ago. So you either have to get a vintage or one tgars months old. I still need to compare vintage Aramis to modern. I have also Devin and 900. Devin you definitely need vintage for the full effect but 900 is very much the same old or new. Snd and actually if i had never smelled vintage Devin the new is a great perfume,they pretty much took the castorium iut though. So im going to get a vintage.

have you ever smelled the original Youth Dew it blows Opium out of the water. JHL is amazing.

I despise Gurlain Santal Royal. It's a loud, screechy synthetic mess to my nose. I went to a store to try some fragrances, Santal Royal was one of them and the other two were Gurlain Extreme and S. T dupent Perfect Tobacco. I didn't care for Gurlain extreme and was so disappointed with Santal Royal and I was like is this shit the same fragrance everyone raves about! It's not worth even 40$. Perfect Tobacco was the which surprised me, it was so good and the least expensive one! I tried them on my skin and also on tester strips I took home with me. After 4 to 5 hours, Santal was ok, but why bother with 5 hours of shit on my skin. I wanted to give it a second try because it's a Gurlain and I did, a full wearing experience . But this is another story with it for another comment, my comment is too long already, sorry for that! Keep it up, Ramsey 💯💥💪

I blind bought Devin a few years 2 years ago, when I began my journy, after listening to a review. It was a good lesson - my skin and nose are unique to me. Devin was the most disgusting perfume ever on my skin. Even worse than Oud for Greatness. It was the first and last perfume I've ever blind bought. I now always try a perfume before buying it. Funny enough my brother loves Devin. He has a completely different skin/nose than mine. There are some DNAs that I don't relate to. Aramis is one of them.

It’s funny how women fragrances back then could be unisex and suit perfectly fine in men . Now you can’t say that about things like the chewy , overly sweet and “cupcakey” stuff from many designers , currently in the market.
