Mathematically. Beautiful. But.... A very relevant but... The stress singularities.. In these points the junctions will fail and rip. Other tech issue is it hard to weld in butt junction the tubular stuff and you need GTAW or GMAW technologies to weld these junctions.. Some pros really hate these procedures because take a lot of time and its complex to weld it. In my experience and opinion , i use these techniques with exotic needs , for instance into fancy stuff. But in structural requirements these techniques are banned because are too dangerous.
