In my country nvidia is more cheaper than amd. RTX 3050 is 250 dollars and rx 6600 is 300 dollars.

I think it‘s a nice budget build and more than enough for solid 1080p. But I would have added a second fan as an intake for sure because the VRM cooling on the DS3H is not very good at all. Just to be sure:)

If you want to use the gen 4 speeds, make sure you upgrade the cpu as well because this one does not offer full pcie gen 4 support.

getting 1TB gen 3 would have been smarter because overtime once you start installing more games like Valhalla size you will eventually hit a limit while using the PC for editing and storing videos and streaming content.

I was just able to piece together a budget build for 570 before tax. Used an i3 chip, 650 bronze EVGA power supply, 2 8GB Oloy 3200 mhz ram, used lian li mid tower chasis, an id cooling 224 xt, gigabyte B460m motherboard, wd 500Gb blue sn570, and a gaming Geforce gtx 980. Im excited as this is going to replace my ps4 so its not much but its a big step up from what i have.

@@sportler777 Trash? Not at all! It smokes the 10100f and beats the 10400f easily and alis. It's esentially a 5600g with the graphics core cut. PCIE 3 is not a problem except with bad value cut-down gpus like the 6500xt. It also probably has some OC headroom looking at it's rather low boost clock. Is it bad value? Yeah, probably. It's kind of overpriced and a 5600 or a 12400f would probably be a better buy. Or even a 12100f. It was also kind of late to the market, but these are just circumstances. If you can get a good deal on it, it's a great chip and will serve you really well. EDIT: Did I mention that it's one of the most efficent chips out there?

Matt, I agree that most people sleep on the 5500. Paired with the 6600 this build just makes sense. Many people think the Cezanne architecture is legitimately bad or something. Thanks for the great video!

I think I got a better pair the 5600G and GTX 1070 which are made for each other because the Apu justifies an older gpu.

I think spending extra to get a 1tb version instead of the 500gb version as well as the b550 instead of the b450 to utilize the faster speeds and double the storage is worth it since someone who intends to spend this much for a pc won't be looking to upgrade core parts like the cpu and gpu anytime soon, overall i think you did a great job with this build given the budget constraints, idealy id spend $120 more for the 8 core 5700x as well as the 1tb and b550 motherboard so basically a $900 pc but all you have is 700 so yeah haha

If you go for the B550 board then you would ideally step up to a Ryzen 5600 for full PCIe 4.0 support, the 5500 in this build only supports PCIe 3.0 so going for a B450 board is huge saving.

I personally think that going with intel 12th gen is better because for a little more than this pc I’m getting anywhere from 5-40 fps more that this pc but it’s up to u

also think gone a bit to hard on the storage could grab nice value pcie 3.0 but from 1 tb as far motherboard goes well ain't much gain whit the part to get from b450 or a b550 part performance would be annectoble the same maybe could grab a r7 later the road on the used market in 2-3 years when am5 rooling hard. @atlasreflex show me a motherboard of intel whit two m.2 that cost 60$ you search for years in my country lol.i5 12400 kind another price range because of it. love that r5 5500 since does allow to game like boss in esport and still hold well and solid event my big open world the i5 do tend to do better but only could saw so much difference that r5 5500 win for me oblivious if you run at 175 fps and game cap at 200 do you believe that extra 1ms extra better frame time work extra cost for cooler motherboard perharps power supply hard to justifie and often baseline are unfair as can get easily nice gain whit nice tunning vcore voltage and get that chips at 4.2/4.25 on stock cooler in nice ventillated case i5 intel stock cooler not event able to cover the whole ihs and will leave to desire to the ear.

What's the point of going for a 5700x over a 5600x, when gaming performance is essentially the same. The only real difference u will see is in productivity work and streaming if you use your cpu to encode your stream

I finally got a gpu brand new from Amazon $30 below msrp and with that money I bought a 4 year warranty, I picked up the Radeon rx 6600 for $300, my pc consist of a ryzen 5 3600 and 32gb 2pk16 3200mph ddr4 ram Corsair vengeance

Hello Matt, can you help me with building a pc, that is good in VMWare that means large files, and moderate in Gaming. Maybe a good flight simulator experience. This could be second hand Ryzen 7 or 9 PC that does Gaming relative good. I already do have a laptop that does have Ryzen 7 5800U, with windows 11 and runs VMWare with 150Gb SSD relative good? But i look for a motherboard that does higher rates then 3500 Mbsec. I have a 2T Samsung Pro that suppose to do 7000Mb/second but i dont see this happen on the laptop. So want to move this 2Terra to the new future motherboard. And i have a GTX 1050 Ti in an other PC. i think i could use that one? Or should i go for the mentioned AMD Radeon RX 6600. Now is the time since the inflation and parts are cheap. Ebay components are ok with me, and the price must be around 600 700 euro. And also i do have a Samsoung 980 1Terra nVME 3500Mb already.

I think the ssd was not good a choice as the motherboard supports gen m.2 there is a a intel m.2 nvme gen 3 1tb ssd for 90$ and the second I think you should spend a little more on the motherboard or to preform better as it has more functions and really liked your cpu but other choices you have is a intel i3-12100f for 70$ with 3.4hz and the graphics card is now you can find a 3070 for 360-400 a used one

I would have just gone with the SN570 since it reads at 3500 MB/S instead of 2500 MB/S that the SN770 would with this build.

This comment is about a year after the video was made so if you are looking for some 2nd opinions heres mine: Dont get the Ryzen 5500. Yes it has 6 cores and 12 threads, but an i3 12100f quadcore (you need a discreet graphics card with this CPU) is about 100 dollars and outperforms the Ryzen 5 5500 by more 10% and it performs an edge better than the Ryzen 5600 (which is 60+ USD more expensive) and can be paired up with the newer B660 chipset motherboards. I made a build for 650 USD and can run Tarkov at high/max settings at 60 fps paired up with a GTX 1080 which you can easily find on ebay for 180-250 USD.

@@DRDarkest it does not work with the B550 motherboard, the B550 motherboard uses an AM4 socket type, where as the 12400f uses the LGA 1700 type, and the 11400f uses the LGA 1200 type.

why the fuck would you get a western digital black for a budget build? something like a wd blue sn550 500gb would fit way better. also, the 12100f would provide a way better gaming performance than a 5500, but the 5500 is a good chip too.

R5 5500 is a great budget upgrade if you have a a320/B350/B450 motherboard and are using a R3 1200/R5 1400 or similar.

The R5 5500 isn't as good as a 12100f. So while this $700 build is fine, it's not the greatest.
