I appreciate your review, I like that you used the ball for a month not just one day and gave a review. I have been using this ball for about 6 rounds so far, I was using the tp5 and thought that was the best ball out there. I am an 11 handicap, I have worked on my short game relentlessly over the past year and can hit the green consistantly from inside 140 yards, I generally am a high spin high trajectory shot. My reason for switching was over 150 yards I generate too much spin. Since I switched I am hitting the fairway very consistantly and my approach shots from 150+ are definetly straighter. These balls hit longer for sure, my average drive with a tp5 is about 250, these balls fly, I hit them about 270 on average and even touched 300 once. I havent had an issue with chipping this ball, but I generate a ton of spin so the drop off on the chip and approach shots hasnt impacted me. I agree on the putting, but it took some time and I have adjusted. I think this ball isnt just for beginners, it really just depends on your game and your needs. I needed a straighter ball off the tee to keep me out of trouble and get me to approach shot without too much trouble. Hopefully with this ball I can push to single digit handicap, and it seems it will, had my two lowest scores in the past 12 months with this ball. One or two more and I am single digit. Great review, but dont give up on this ball so quick.

Great review. I think you are spot on. On a par 71, coarse, I average about 105-110. Second year playing. I bump and run, pitch and run a lot. My big blow ups come when slicing or fading one off the tee into the trees. I feel this ball certainly helps. Gave you a sub!

Agreed. I played them this year and they are excellent balls. I got tired of paying for premium balls and feeling like I lost $5 bucks everytime I lost one. I am a 12HCP. I do the majority of my chipping with the SW. Always have. With the Straightfli I did have to go to a 64* wedge to chip when I was short sided or had to go over a bunker. Works fine for me and I can even get them to check.

Sounds pretty honest, I played 2 piece budget "distance balls" for the longest time(probably about 4-5 seasons) my gamer was the Wilson 50 Elite they're about a dollar a ball. They are not extremely long but feel pretty hard off the face with irons which is a good sensation for a beginner as it feels powerful with the sound produced. Once I became more confident with my ball striking and wedge play I tried a mid tier ball with a urethane cover(Srixon X-Star Tour) as they were on sale and immediately I felt a difference, as you mentioned the distance on irons may have suffered a bit, but I found less rollout on my iron approaches into greens and more control on pitch shots, how could I go back now? I now appreciate a softer muted sound then the hard click as I no longer need the audible reinforcement on a good shot, as I can tell more by the feel. I think you were spot on with this and can say as a beginner the sound and distance help with a low spin hard ball will inspire confidence but a softer higher spinning ball with wedge play will help improve score as your game improves, well done Cobe.

I'm a 9 hcp with 93 mph swing speed. I've played about 15 rounds with these balls and play on a tight course, so keeping the ball out of the desert is a key to scoring. These do hit straighter, because I am not losing as many balls and my penalty stokes are down. They are also long. I really notice this with my irons. At 150 yards I'm now hitting an 9 vs an 8. This gives me more accuracy and higher decent angle into the greens and I am not finding it difficult to stop these balls. On short chips they take some getting used to because the ball can really pop off the club. That being said how many 30 yard chips do you have over a sand trap in a round? I will sacrifice accuracy on that shot for more accuracy on all the other shots. I think categorizing this ball as a beginner ball is wrong. It's for anyone who want's to hit the ball straighter and a bit longer.

Thanks for the review. I have been playing these for a month or so and like them alot. I have also been giving the wilson "ZIP" balls a try. Seems I get a little more distance with zip balls but maybe not quite as straight.

I 'd like to know what the basic specifications are for golf balls; because all commercial brands of golf balls must have to meet PGA/LPGA specifications in terms of what they're made of, weight, surface texture, etc. Interesting, Cobe. It would also be illuminating to know what the most popular brands are in the LPGA and what determines players' choices of golf ball, not that I expect to see you at the tees tomorrow to ask them. When are you going to get Brooke on there to talk about such exciting things, Cobe?

So.... It is not for someone in hcp 17,3 but for those in hcp 25 - haha :D I don't think those 8 strokes makes that big of a difference... I think we can all use more straight flights - I'm in +5,3 and even I am thinking about trying them out xD
