What are the books you’ve read in the last three months? Which genre seems to be working to best for your?

I read both I Who Have Never Known Men and Chain Gang Allstars in May, which was my best month so far. I’m reading mostly non fiction (civil rights and women’s and Black history mostly) as well as fantasy this year

For me it was Kim Jiyoung born 1982. That was a great recommendation. I liked how calm she (the main character) sounded when stating her criticisms. Anyways, good luck tonight! I mean, it's totally the wrong place to bring up a football match but since we almost never play against you guys...

Wow, it's difficult to answer that because most of the books I read in the last three months were self-published Spanish authors or little Spanish publishers, the more internationals were manga, light novels and Night Watch by Terry Pratchett (every year in the same date). The total of these three months is 37 books and 1 currently reading (Dracula, I'm reading base on the dates in the book).

LOVED Piranesi (but I got impatient trying to figure out what was going on, that I read the plot summary of the 1st 1/2 of the book online! 😂). Is Blood over bright haven as good or has similar riddle-y vibes? 😯

@@BookswithEmilyFox Oh good luck with the redecorating, Emily. Ya I keep most of my books in my room. In the bookshelf built-in to my closet. Which is a deep self, which isn't my favorite aesthetically. I've made it work ❤. And a small one next to my bed 🛏️.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt is the one book that I would recommend about an older woman's relationship with a caged octopus at an aquarium that she works at; I like hearing about the octopus's perspective on his captivity and what he knows about the woman's dead son.

The Thirteenth tale is a good read! I only read it recently but it's been on my shelf for 10-15 years. Eek! When I worked at the book store when I was at uni it was a best seller and we sold a lot of it. Glad to see someone on book tube not solely focussed on new releases! ❤

Jasna Hi Emily, I've just recently found your book channel, but I've followed your beauty channel for years and I really miss your lipstick swatches videos. Maybe you could do some ready with me book review type of video in the future? :) I love reading everything from fantasy to classics and everything in between, like I love makeup from drugstore to luxury - if it's good it's good. My recommendations from this year: Great Alone by Kristin Hannah; Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin; and Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey read by the author. Bonne journée et bonne lecture! :)

It's interesting hearing you talk about Funny Story, I had written it off in my mind because of the ex thing. But maybe it will be fun. I've only read Beach Read so I should look into Funny Story as well. I definitely appreciate the emotional maturity of the characters in Emily Henry's work! :)

I just finished "The Will of the Many" and did give it 5 stars though I do think a few things were very convenient, Vis is a little unconvincinhly too smart at times, andtbh I thought the ending was convoluted (but Fantasy endings are a Me problem).
