Umm this tests nothing at all. The cabin air filter is suppose to filter out to a certain micron particle. N u didnt test that at ALL. Thats the WHOLE purpose of a cabin air FILTER lmao. It isn't for filtering sound lmaoooo wtf?

somehow I knew it would be wix soon as i clicked on the video! a trusty mechanic friend of mine always said get a wix, i had forgot that advice since i bought a walmart fram one, negligible smell improvement and i feel like my air could be better. and after watching this I can see it most definetly can with the right filter, thanks Nate, i enjoy all your videos keep it up!

I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts the other day and asked about a cabin air filter for my 2010 Accord .The man behind the counter went to the back and brought out a Wix filter. .Didn't know anything about them but purchased it. So far I really like it 👍

I prefer more filtration on the cabin air filter. Getting rid of the pollen is good, but pollen clogs up the HEPA filters the most. Dust just sits on top and even if you have a thick pad of dust on top, air will flow through it. But pollen fills up the microscopic air gaps in a HEPA and it's no wonder that HEPA filters usually need replacement after each annual pollen season which translates to once per year in pollen country.

What’s the point of showing the temperature if you’re not going to run the AC or heat. If neither is on then the temperature change means nothing and is just error.

Makes sense that a filter with many more pleats (more surface area) would allow more air flow - assuming the filter media filters the same size particles, which I'm sure they're not the same. This was not even mentioned in this video. This is a very limited comparison of these filters. Wix typically cost 2x or more than a cheap filter like the Microgard.

Louder and more temp variation means better filtration or clogged filter. Same principle. Quieter and less temp variation means less filtration, or better filter media with more surface area.

There was also a video for engine air filters done by a popular KZfaq channel, and Wix also won for best filtering (not allowing both fine and large particles through), so now I'm convinced that Wix is best if you want the cleanest air for your car.

Good point to measure the sound and temp, the main feature of a filter is the filtration ability though. Why didn't test?

Agreed. There was no test of air quality. Those temperature and noise tests were not proxies for filtration.

Don't ever buy a hepa filter. It started restricting air flow after like 3,000 miles. All I want is large chunks filtered out. Wish they made cheap fiberglass filters for the cabin like you can buy for a furnace.

SOMEONE Help. Is the arrow on the cabin air filter from wix indicating air flow direction or orientation???? There is only an Arrow. I’d assume it means air flow but the text makes it seem like it means just up. Why wix

Direction of air intake. Comes in from the outside, then flows through filter, through fan, then to car interior. Air from the vent through the filter, so put the arrow towards the fan. Hopefully I explained it well enough.

@@Mark-pz3lq yes arrow goes down but air does not come from down below feet. Air cones from vent hoods and actually comes down into blower motor and through evaporator and supply vents. I looked it up. Air flow is from up to bottom

@@tylerabbott5187 you misunderstood that's what I was saying that's how I figured it out I could tell that it comes from the vent because the leaves was on top of the filter and it blows through the fan down into the car then to wherever the vents direct the fresh air too. So the fan pulls air through the filter.

Your owner manual should have a picture with the arrow in the picture showing direction of air flow.

Naaah, they can get there, depending on vehicle intake design !! A mechanic found leaves on my '08SaturnOutlook cabin air filter last yr., a cabin air filter which wasn't supposed to actually be there according to past research !! Thanks to the mechanic going the extra' ....

If I had to choose between going with a Fram or going home, I’d go home every time. It’s amazing to see how many people support the cheapest brand. Save up a few dollars and buy something worth your money.
