In this video I share other credit cards that are better than the Amex Gold for your dining and grocery spend. I want to share that the Amex Gold card is not the only restaurant or grocery store credit card option out there. You can still find solid value for those spend categories without having to deal with a high annual fee or monthly credits.
Yes, I still think the Amex Gold card is a great dining and grocery credit card. However, it's worth noting that it may not suit everyone's spending habits or financial needs. Love this video Chase! There's definitely flaws with the Amex Gold especially if you don't have high enough spend in the main categories or have a hard time organically justifying the Credits each month. Great options here as well! The BCP & Citi Custom Cash are some of my fav alternatives!

Great Video! Just what I was looking for too ! Love that Savor has no spending cap . One more reason Savor one is best alternative for Amex Gold is because it would be more widely accepted outside US of A . However , to replace the Amex gold entirely, I would probably choose the Savor with the $95 AF .

Im keeping my AmEx Gold. But ..... If i ever needed an alternative, i would probably go for the Cap1 Savor ($95 AF card with the 4x in dining & entertainment). Or i would product change my CSP to a CSR so i would effectively get 4.5x on dining.

Love the vids. I have the gold and realized i can’t justify the gold anymore. instead on applying for a new one, taking up a 5/24 slot, should i downgrade green?

I am considering switching from the AmEx Gold. We end up buying groceries from Target and Costco. And the Chase Freedom Unlimited or CSP can be my dining card.

those cards work nicely for Target and Costco. The venture X could be an option to be your grocery card but as long as you can justify the annual fee.

depends on what you are trying to substitute. if you want a grocery card, the CSP isn't the best replacement for the amex gold. If you want a more travel focused card, then yes the CSP would be a good substitute.

@@aryehpaulwalter7520 if you don't mind the monthly credits and spend a lot in dining and groceries then the Gold will be a top earner. But I would recommend taking a look at the Capital One Savor One. That card has great multipliers and has no annual fee.

@@ChaseYokoyama I'm with you, if the Amex Gold gets nerfed, I'm canceling it year 2 and reverting to the Capital One Duo, or picking up the Altitude Reserve and just doing a 1 or two card setup with it. Not sure what I'd do with my Venture X in that case, but honestly I'm finding transfer partners a bit more of a hassle than it's worth, considering I'm a budget traveler.

I wonder how you guys in the "CC Game" get around getting rejected due to high number of inquiries in your credit report. Have a >750 score, zero negatives, own home, no debt, very high income, no balances, about $250K in current CC credit lines, and yet got rejected by Wells Fargo for the free autograph due to "high number of inquiries". Seriously??

i get where you are coming from but trust me. we are not immune to denials. I think we have all been there before. It's almost an inevitable part of the credit card game.
