Acrylic pouring: Fluid art
My pouring medium used for my current work is a pre mix of 70% “Mont marte clear craft glue and 30% warm water, (most pva glues can be made up with same ratios to make a pouring medium), I add my pouring medium to my paint slowly until I achieve the consistency of pouring cream, approximately 50/50 more pm if needed.
My paint brands mostly used are the Mont marte studio acrylics, dimensions, or pouring paints, Boom Gel stain.
When iv mixed my paints I add 2-4 drops maximum of Helmar silicone, also Australian made, I stir in well.
I always like to mix up my paints and add silicone the day before I’m going to paint, and cover with a damp cloth, as I have found I have much better results.

What a crying shame you have to explain. I love what you teach. I love when you make mistakes I can learn from. I love when you use colors I don't like lol, I make a note of what not to use. And you are so right, somebody will probable like it. I have two boxes of paintings ready to sell someday and I'm getting better with each of your videos of "gorgeous" paintings. I haven't mixed many colors yet. I have messed with the difference of floetrol and the 70/30 glue and water. Thanks so much from northern CA and I love what you do. Phooy on the trolls. I love the colors in this one and I am going to try it. Yes I am alone, It is difficult, but I have you :-)

Don't let people like that lady, get you down, they are to be pitied because they are apparently very unhappy and want to make you the same way. On a brighter note I just want you to know that I wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue acrylic pouring until I came across your videos. Two nights ago I ordered all my paints and supplies to get started. Thank you for leading me to paint pouring and I'll keep you updated on my progress. 💖💖

Thank you Gilly, there are people who just HAVE to vent their opinion no matter how negative or ill-informed it may be. I believe are bitter, unhappy people who want to be like the "successful" people they perceive others to be but are too mired down in the mud of their own disatisfaction to change their circumstance. The only thing you can do is shake their dust from your feet and walk on. Thank you for your tutorials and the happy and authentic way in which you deliver them. There are no failures, only steps to success 😊

Enjoy what u do! I enjoy u & your experiments!! Someone who devotes 8 hrs or more to teaching &/or creating art 8 hrs a day can qualify to be a paid art critic. Ironically, the untrained, uneducated public decides what a masterpiece is. So piss on the haters, who are fools!! As long as you’re fulfilled, don’t worry about the haters!! Pray for them bcuz believe me, through my experience, haters come out of jealousy! Block the jerks, who probably hate their lives & didn’t make their mark in the art world! I have really enjoyed your tutorials especially this past week. I thought your take on going “bacterial” was fabulous. Someday when you do go viral/bacterial, your kids, grandkids and great grandkids for generations will tell the great story of when grandmother Jilly went “bacterial”with her spectacular artwork and tutorials. It’s a heartwarming story your family will always enjoy telling. You seem to always be on interesting adventures. For instance, the adventure with the lawnmower while listening to your music. What I got out of it was, you were having a wonderful time listening to your music and cutting the grass cut at the same time. Sounded very peaceful and uplifting. I agree with you 100% about people saying negative things about our art (or anything for that matter). My philosophy is, before I speak I ask myself “is what I’m about to say kind, true and more importantly necessary”. It keeps me out of trouble most times. Just keep pouring your love into all of these tutorials and lovely pieces of art. Whatever could be better in life than that

Please don’t let the naysayers bother you. Some people are thoughtless and there is nothing you can do about it except control the way you react to it. I LOVE that you get excited about your work! It is wonderful and contagious. Your videos brighten my world every single day! I have tried the pouring once because you make it look so easy. It is not easy! It was a disaster and I washed the canvas completely. I will try again. I think it seems like a great activity for quarantine. Please know that your work and videos are completely lovely!

Art is so subjective, If you think something is Gorgeous, say so Loud and Proud... if someone else doesn't, that's just there opinion. I love watching you work, although I have to admit I occasionally talk to you, asking you what you are doing.. but then in the end your painting turn out so pretty.. I also love that you show your mistakes, and then show how you fix it. So forget the negative... there are lots of us that love your work

My dear Gilly - if I may say so - we are so many to appreciate so much your art, your delicate way to explain your technique. As artists we are often sensible persons and unfortunately we are easily touched by persons who have to be negative. That is only and absolutely only their own problem. Just dont give fuel to those negative people. Ignore them. Theyre trying to get under your skin. When u address them, u r fuing them. U r beautiful. Your work is beautiful. Not everyone is mean. :) keep being u.

Art is an expression of one's self. I paint in acrylics and have thought I'd like to try the fluid art. I have been watching many fluid artists trying to get the courage to try it. Thanks for your videos.

Hi Gilly, I love your work & your love of bright colours is really uplifting in these sad times for many. I'm disabled so being house-bound is a way of life for me & I find that art is what bring me the greatest satisfaction of all. I do all my art sitting down & can usually only do 1 or 2 in a day - but your encouragement & easy manner have taught me heaps! Have a wonderful day, ignore the drop-kicks who want to complain..and carry on painting! ;)
