Looking for a good cheap foam cannon? Harbor Freight just added a new one to their line of products and I decided to pick it up to test it out. There are tons of foam cannons available on Amazon that look exactly like this one, but they don't all perform the same (although most do ha). With some minor tweaks and some good foaming soap, this Harbor Freight Foam Cannon is a good performer! Enjoy...

Always excited to see the noti that Josh has posted. Always good stuff, I purchased the MJJC with DTLR and won’t be needing anything different for awhile but it’s nice to see there are good options out there

Great review as always, had bought the MJJC last year based on your reviews but was looking for something budget friendly for a setup for a family member. @@philshock3805I can confirm this. But how the heck do you remove the quick connect. It feels welded on. Definitely doesn't come off like in the video.

@@DangerJohnny79 Yeah, it's definitely on there. Ridiculously tight. I ended up removing the top adjustment knob and front black nozzle piece to get a better grip where I could with an adjustable wrench. Then with a wrench on the quick connect, gave it a sharp rap with a dead blow. I wasn't going to change the orifice, but it became a quest. lol

I bought one last week and it works great! No need for a pressure washer. Plenty of foam. Actually it made so much foam the gutter foamed up so bad I had to rinse it all down because it was embarrassing.

Have now used this to clean house siding and it performed well kzfaq.infoUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX I also bought some wand extensions which enabled higher washing without needing a ladder. I recommend both. This unit arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (only had to attach the handle), and arrived in perfect condition. The only very slight downgrade from a perfect score is the design has a low handle and requires pulling from the side. My old washer was an upright model, while this one is more horizontal. Other than that, it's perfect for my needs. It has a great deal of pressure and more easily cleaned the house siding, porch rails and concrete than did my older model. The engine is a bit louder, as well, but the total time to clean was reduced by the more powerful spray. Did I mention it starts on the first or second pull every time?!! I am definitely happy with this model.

Got one of these today during a %15 off sale. They have them at $34.99 now, and the box expresses including a 1.2mm orifice for gas, and 1.1mm for electric. I get the sense they may have made arrangements after your video.

Just picked one up and added a 1.1mm orifice. It’s my first foam cannon (been and bucket and mit guy for a long time) definitely going to upgrade to the MJJC at some point be this will work for my weekend warrior style. Good review.

I’m not gonna lie, I loved this foam cannon! Was the first one I bought.., now have like 7… but this thing is definitely nicer than some of the more premium options….It’s no MJJC.. but I couldn’t tell you how many times I dropped this thing and it kept going, I finally broke it, took it back to HF, and they exchanged it no questions asked.. now I keep it as a backup.

I have this cannon from Harbor freight and still has the 1.25 orifice and amazed. Have the 1.1 and the quick connect set one the way. I’m thinking 25-30 foot long hose from the current 20 foot

I picked one of these up because I have a local Harbor Freight and wanted to try out my Craftsman PW right away. Used it with Meguires Gold class. Pretty good results. Then got the 1.1 orifice and Mr. pink. Nice! Not an MJJC, but for home use its great.

so josh you can turn the fan direction on the foam cannon. if you turn right or left you will see the fan open in close but if you keep turning they change from vertical to horizontal

Well josh i have a question for you just like everyone else. I thought i had my mind finally made up with the Cat/active pressure washer but since im not a detailer i thought maybe i ought to pick one of your chosen less expensive units so by the time i add all your other recommendations i wouldnt be at 500+ so i bought both the greenworks 1700 and the harbor freight one and thought id have you help me decide which one to keep......any opinion on that would help me immensly. You do an awesome job and are very detailed and particular as am i so i have much respect for you and your opunions. Thank you so much in advance.

I used a cheap one on Amazon that I hoped worked well, switched out the orifice, and could not get any decent foam at all with Chemical Guys honeydew soap. Returning it asap and hoping this Harbor Freight one will do the job!

You definitely need to check out the Sooprinse Foam Cannon. Best bottle. Has a filter on the super flexible hose. The fat tipped nozzle is fully adjustable to any angle. It for sure rivals the 100+ but costs a fraction of that price. This is the foam canon of foam canons. Plastic lid on plastic bottle by the way. It oozes of quality in your hands. Plus it looks super cool!

I'm going to get this as a backup cannon. I just add a half ounce of superclean to my soap to add a better cleaning capability to break down grime, then I rinse off and refoam with pure soap. can you do a review of Turtle wax Slick n slide n tell us what you think. it's my new favorite lubricious ph neutral soap

Can you use liquid wax with a foam canon? I'm trying to eliminate going to the car wash but also I'm not too keen on hand polishing so I gravitate towards the liquid solution.

As a side note to this (and other reviews you do) the wand nozzle ratings of 3.0 and 3.5 are equivalent to 1.09 mm and 1.22 mm orifice openings (both a tad smaller than comparable used in foam cannons). At the preferred ~1100 psi spray a 3.0 orifice should be discharging ~1.55 gpm and the 3.5 orifice should be discharging ~1.9 gpm. a great indicator for why the 1.25 mm orifice installed in most foam cannons struggles with electric washers since few, if any, can do 1.9 gpm at 1100 psi.

I use a 1.1mm in mine and it makes a big difference in the thickness and quality of foam, and that’s with 2000psi 1.4 gpm machine

Sadly, I bought the Armor All after you reviewed it and they had changed their style to a 2-in-1 with a non-adjustable filter in the end. I'll be taking it back and buying one of these or another that you've reviewed. In time, I'll get to invest in one of the nicer ones.

You tested the armor all foam Cannon @ 2100 psi & this one at 1800. Do you still prefer the armor all at 1800 psi? Have you tried it WITH the office swap @ 1800?

What brand of 1.1 orifice did you use in the harbor freight foam cannon? I bought some universal ones off Amazon and they didn't fit. The original fit flush and screwed in all the way but the universal one only wanted to thread in about a turn and a half before getting stuck.

Josh I love your channel but I need your help/advice. I have the Husqvarna PW2000 electric pressure washer and just got the Harbor Freight Foam Cannon in this video. For some reason the foam cannon does not lock securely in the lance/wand's quick connect and can be pulled right out. The brass ring that slides up and down doesn't return to the original position all the way and I can't figure out what's going on. The nozzles that came with the pressure washer all fit normally. Can you verify this? Keep up the great work, I've learned a lot thanks to you!

I picked this one up at HF 2 weeks ago. As Josh said, it’s a good unit for $25! Used it out of the box with my CAT (Active) pressure washer and made good foam. I’m waiting on the MJJC (mid May!🤨) and just got the 1.1 orifice nozzle delivered to swap out and try this weekend! I think this will make a solid stand in.

With the CAT/VE52 pressure washers, it is recommended to use a 1.25mm orifice with foam cannons, as anything lower could cause the motor to surge or draw more amps than it is rated for. I use the MJJC with 1.25 orifice and Adams mega foam with my Active and the results are great. You might be able to run 1.1 fine short term, but it may lead to a lower life expectancy of the unit over the long term.

Hopefully with your soap it smells really good and just for fun you should make it turn to a color green blue whatever just like Adams. I know it doesn’t do anything special but my kids would get a kick out of it. Seeing our car turn purple or something lol

do all foam cannons use the same thread size Orifice? I'm asking because I have a no name amazon foam cannon. I use the same 1800psi 1.2gpm Ryobi pressure washer that you used in this video. I use Adams Mega foam and like the way it foams but its expensive, just trying to figure a way to get more foam from a cheaper foam soap.

Great video and extremely halpful! I must have a bit of a defective unit because the connection to unscrew and exchange the 1.2 to 1.1 is fused on (almost like it has locktite). I probably just need to swap it for another one.

I just bought this foam cannon and all it does is shoot out a straight stream of foam. Not the fan type spray you’re getting. I tried adjusting it but no luck. Wonder if mine is defective or something

You touched on a key point for me @ 9:20. I think most products will produce a decent amount of foam but I am more interested in how affective these products are at breaking down the soils on the paint. Is there a review of how well these products actually "clean"?

It really depends on the soap. Typically higher ph soaps will have more cleaning ability. I’m trying to figure out a good way to actually show differences in cleaning ability but I haven’t found a good way to do it yet

The Simoniz 1800 PSI 2.0 GPM Corded Cold Water Brushed Electric Pressure Washer w/ Foam Blaster from Canadian tire has the exact casing as the active so I believe it’s the exact products

Not a rocket scientist, but I dont really get how the gallon per minute can change anything to the foam canon since we are only letting 1,1mm of space for the water to go trough. I have the upgrade gun, flexilla hose, griot’s foam cannon matched with the Adams mega foam. I dont have that thick foam i’m looking for. This set up is plugged into an electric Karcher stating 1800 psi and 1,3 gpm. Do i really need to upgrade the pressure washer? Soap ratio about 1 for 4 and 1,1 mm orifice, my water isnt hard. Any help?

I use the comet static 1700. 1.8/1.9 GPM electric PW. Should I swap out the orafice to a 1.1 or use the 1.25 that it comes with

Since you have a electric pressure washer definitely get the 1.1 orifice from Amazon it comes with two in a package for about eight bucks. But for gas operated pressure washers the original orifice is fine.
