AC Delco vs. Kimo vs. Milwaukee vs. Hercules; These 3/8 In Ratchets you can buy at Amazon.com, Home Depot and Harbor Freight go head to head to see who's the best performer overall. Each of these ratchets are tested for max RPM, Lux (light Reading), for speed on the nut and bolt test, for speed on the lag screw test, battery life left after testing, Decibel rating, and Temperature after testing. All 3/8 ratchets are 12V lithium battery operated and have brushed motors. Good luck on your next home or automotive project! Interesting results! I’ve been using the AC Delco for a few years and have really put it through its paces. And it’s seems to have a lot of power for a cheap price.

I’m not to sure about the kimo one but from experience I can vouch for the AC Delco one with the part number arw1209 that is the 3/8 inch ratchet and if you want the 1/4 inch ratchet from them aswell its part number is arw1207 I bought them a year after buying a Milwaukee 3/8 inch one like shown in this video because I needed 2 of these ratchets because I do a lot of side work on my own vehicle during the weekends so I bought the ac delco one and ended up taking it to work because I like both the ac delco ones better than the Milwaukee one the Milwaukee has broken on me a couple times mind you within warranty but the AC Delco ones are 2 years old and my Milwaukee one is 3 years old I just sold it because of that the tool still has 2 years of a 5 year warranty left but the battery was starting to die very fast and the battery costed more than buying 2 more AC Delco ratchets so I sold it and with the money I got from selling a used tool I bought 2 brand new AC Delco electric ratchets a 3/8in one and the 1/4in one all because I know they will last and they in my opinion will probably last longer because each tool comes in a kit so I got both the tools and 2 chargers and 4 batteries I can put 2 batteries up and not use them and when the batteries I have now die out due to age I can sit there and go grab the batteries I put away and boom I have 2 more batteries you can also go to harbor freight and their 12 volt earthquake branded batteries I think is the brand I ended up grabbing that day works with these AC Delco ratchets aswell so keep that in mind too if you don’t want to wait on a replacement battery because you destroy one like I did or you are just plain impatient like me drive to harbor freight with your old battery and match up the contacts in a new battery and buy it like me or take your tool in and see what battery fits it and boom you got a new battery without waiting and without hassle so I’m gonna go with the ac delco ones all day everyday they just seem to last in my experience with them especially since I’ve been using both the 1/4in ratchet and the 3/8in ratchet everyday for the past 2 almost 3 years and they have lasted and when I mean lasted I clean them off with brake cleaner and outside of some scratches because I’m not easy on my tools at all they look almost new my Milwaukee I could not say that about when I sold it thing was ready to go to the dump after only 3 years

I have used all of these ratchets except the kimo and I will this I would rank them like this 1-Milwaukee 2-AC Delco 3-Hercules and the only reason the Hercules isn’t number 2 is plain and simple it is to damn big to use almost anywhere and honestly the AC Delco is the one I bought just because price wise you can’t beat it literally nothing can beat it only thing Milwaukee’s does better is battery life and warranty or it would be number 2 on this list and AC Delco would be first and this is coming from someone who has used the Milwaukee one shown in this video for 3 going on 4 years now and I just sold it and bought the AC Delco 3/8in electric ratchet shown in this video and the AC Delco 1/4in electric ratchet just by selling 1 tool I came out with 2 tools and 4 batteries and 2 chargers and sockets come with these tools and honestly you have to see where I am going here I use the Milwaukee everyday and if I am willing to sell it to spend a lil over a $100 on amazon and get the AC Delco ratchets delivered to my doorstep faster than the cornwell guy could even make it back to the shop goes to show that anyone home diy use or even professional use in a shop like I use it for should definitely keep in mind that you don’t have to buy everything brand name another great example is the $2000 or more I have spent in cornwell blue power sockets if you go on amazon and look up vevor impact sockets they have you covered for 3/8in and 1/2in impact socket sets shortwell and deep well I spent under $$175 getting all the sockets I have ever bought off the cornwell truck the only thing I didn’t get is the short 1/2in set and the extra short 1/2in set I will keep my cornwell versions of those until I can find a set on amazon I like now mind you I’m not selling the cornwell sockets I have I will keep them and I will have a set of very good expensive sockets at my house because I do alot of side work on my own cars and my buddies cars and neighbors cars makes me money but I will definitely start gathering more vevor sockets for 1/2in and 3/8in if I don’t have enough as it is and then I will have all my expensive stuff at home where I know it wont get lost 😂😂 but hey if you need a 1/4in impact socket set you can get a shortwell and deepwell metric and sae set off amazon which I absolutely fell in love with the moment I got it the brand name is Wiildis yes with 2 i’s in the name just look up Wiildis 1/4 inch socket set and it comes in a red case and comes with any and every 1/4inch socket you will ever need in sae and metric for only $42.79 almost the exact amount the matco guy tried charging me for 2 single shortwell 1/4 inch sockets a 8mm and a 10mm so hey instead of spending $42.23 on 2 sockets spend $0.56 more and get this set cause every set I just told you about comes in a carrier case either blue or red and that way you dont have to buy organizers for your sockets unless you dump them on the floor they will always be organized inside of the case it came in so all I gotta say is stop buying off the tool trucks there are things online or even in harbor freight for 1/2 or even sometimes a 1/3 to a 1/5 of what you will spend on a tool truck and that is a fact and honestly knowing what I know now I wish I could go back and buy the tools I just listed because I would have saved probably in the range of $5,000 or so in all the tools I’ve ever bought just sticking with amazon stuff with good reviews and also the same manufacturers as the name brand tools like vevor is cornwell and the wiildis set is mac so why would I spend more knowing that if you know what I mean so just find the right products and you will save a lot of money and when I say a lot I mean enough to buy a car or even put a down payment on a house and same thing with tool boxes go to harbor freight and finance a toolbox through them seriously I’m not joking for a little under $2,000 you’ll get the. 72 inch snapon box and it is built well enough to the point that I’m about to buy one and thats the series three tool boxes they have the series 2 is good aswell just stay away from the series one harbor freight boxes they were built cheap and you could tell see if some rebadged a snapon box and a mew series 3 harbor freight box and put them both in front of me I wouldn’t know the difference unless it had a custom color on it cause thats the only thing harbor freight won’t do but hey I’m just here leaving an honest review from a technician who works on cars every day and have been for almost 9 years now so please listen to me when I say these things cause I try to keep people away from the tool trucks because they are there to take everything you have and some

Great advice man. I'm right there with ya. I didn't personally go into tool truck debt, but a ton of the guys I work with did. I've watched as several guys making $15/hr racked up 10k-15k in debt to the snapon/mack tools truck guys. Wild. I've also had great results with these "off brand" tools. Also, you can look up a list of manufacturers that actually make the name brand tools and some off brands are exact copies sold under different names.

Hi, Mike's DO it Yourself :) Can I use the 12vbattery from the Milwaukee with the Kimo one ? the battery itself look very similar. Cheerz!

They seem very similar, so it's a possibility. I see the manufacturers having small differences, so you have to buy their specific battery. Unfortunately, I sold the Kimo, so I can't check for you. - Mike

Which one felt the most comfortable in your hand and which one has the thinnest grip? Thanks.
@mikesdoityourself
@mikesdoityourself Жыл бұрын
Milwaukee was the most comfortable, maybe because it was the most worn. The AC Delco felt the most solid, maybe because it was the heaviest. The grips were all about the same, maybe because the battery sizes were the same except for the Harbor freight brand. I use the hercules on a regular basis and it seems to have a smaller grip but the battery sticks out at the end - so I guess it's a matter of preference. - Mike

@@brianboughter1040 I've been using the Hercules at home and continue to use the Milwaukee at work- I haven't had any issues with either one , so I feel like they would both be a worry free purchase. - Mike
