It just now, this moment dawned on me: all ratchets are cordless, unless pneumatic. This is blowing my mind!

Got the ACDELCO version of this, which is a Durofix rebrand. Paid $107 at amazon 2 years ago. I break a nut manually and then ratchet it out with this. I dont really like the Bulky style of other brand(battery). I went with this for the extended length, its a great value!

@@allanb3222 The Delco one (ARW1218) has a one-speed (on/off) paddle though, while the Durofix RW1216 has a variable trigger. The Delco tool is usually available with better sales or in combo kits though, whereas the Durofix though it has a similar reg. price seems to have less sales/deals offered.

I find that if you take advantage of the available back lash in these tools (backing off a few degrees) it does give them a bit of a running start while still being on the fastener. You demonstrated this whether you realized it or not. Thank you for this content, I am in the market for an extended reach cordless ratchet. This helped me. I will likely purchase this exact tool soon.

I agree with you 100% Mr. Johnson .... It is a nut running device , not an impact device ! All those Hillbillies who ask for the "Nascar Method" are obviously either backyard mechanics or have watched too many nascar races..... I am a tech and i have been for 25+ years and never in my life have i seen someone do what you call the Nascar method .. I also have alot of friends who are techs and if they ever watched me do that they would scream @ me and wonder WTF i was doing to the fastener...

People use the "nascar" method because there's not always room for the amount of arc swing a cordless ratchet needs but i agree thats hard on the fastner and your socket but you can meet in the middle using a six point socket, hold the socket/ratchet against the fastner half a turn out not actually engaged on the fastner, then hit the trigger, the tool gets the momentum it needs and the socket slips right on without chewing anything out

you dont really want alot of torqe in one of these youll probably be useing it in one hand and in awkward position, if youve ever used an air ratchet you know there prone to twisting your wrist and slamming your knuckles into the nearest metal bracket

Hello again Shop Tools And Tim Thank you for another Great Video. And thank you for taking the time to explain your ratings and how you came to the decision. But I would like to know if you have a rating chart sort the Torque Test Channel has. As someone who is researching for my next tool purchase. Things like Tool Warranty, fit and feel while in use means a lot. Again thank you

Spinning the ratchet up and then jamming it on the fastener, my buddies and I call it "the clutch dump". I clutch dump my cordless ratchet all the time.

Good afternoon! How do you think this compares to Milwaukee’s 3/8 extended? In terms of manual nut busting? I wonder if the Milwaukee can break 150lbs manually? I’m debating picking up this DuroFix. But I am invested in the M12 and M18 battery platform.

I’ve been trying to find a review with both of those ratchets but I can’t find any, both of them have a bulky head but the trigger on the durofix is much better in my opinion

For 150 ft-lbs, I wouldn't risk a $200 Milwaukee. Use a $20 breaker bar.

While watching yours' and other videos on cordless ratchets there is one thing nobody ever mentions. That is with full battery how much torque does the tool put out when tightening a bolt or nut?
@Shoptoolreviews
@Shoptoolreviews 2 жыл бұрын
This is really pointless for a cordless ratchet. They are meant to run nuts on and off, not be an impact wrench. Thanks for watching.

@@Shoptoolreviews Some people use these on cars to run bolts into manifolds and valve covers, etc. Would be good know what kind of torque these put out so not to overtighten the bolts.
@dingchavez1960

@@nel6211 They're mostly rated for 35-55 ft-lbs, but if you're gonna care about the torque, you really need to buy a torque wrench or adapter.
