I had a failed rear diff bushing on my Z that was causing wheel hop on hard acceleration from a stop, so I had all the diff bushings replaced with Whiteline bushings. The improvement in the feel of the rear end and in shifting was very noticeable. I'm glad that I didn't wait until the bushing had disintegrated totally and I had developed drive line clunk before I had it changed.

You made it seem easy! Nice job. I just replaced mine on a G37. It was a pain to take the old bushing out. Wish I had known about the air tool. You should support the half axles with a bungee cord or a zip tie tho.

i have read it somewhere online that the G37X and the fx35 (2009) are on the "same platform". Do you know if this is so? And does this means that the differential bushings would be the same? I am not a mechanic and do not really understand the term "platform" as it pertains to a car. You been most helpful. Thnx.

Hello! The instruction manual for the whiteline bushings say “place larger bushing on up side of differential” you put the smaller one on top....

Yep, we actually checked on this with Whiteline and it seems they have updated the instructions after the time we made the video. I believe they had a slight redesign or reengineering.

Do you reuse both bottom gold looking metal washer and top black metal washer and discard rubber bushing ? Please help !

great info. thnx. I have a FX 35 2009 rwd. Do you know if this bushing will work on this suv? Your reply will be appreciated.

I do believe it would be the same kit. You would need to double check with Whiteline though. I mildly recall us doing this on an FX35 as well.

I have a base model 370z For over 12 years I never heard of any issues with the diff bushing. Is this something I should keep an eye out for? I come from the old school if it’s not broken don’t fix it.

Chances are that it is broken, its just hard to spot. Get it inspected and look for cracks or fluid leaking out. Most Zs that we get into the shop that have over 80k mi or are driven aggressively are in need of diff bushing replacement.

I think the Z1 bushing is better. If you see the videos of how much movement is still in the new bushing, the Whiteline and everyone else has too much rubber or urethane. The Z1 is mostly metal and videos show very little movement. It's almost as good as a solid bushing.

Always appreciate thoughtful insight! It does depend what your goals are with the car. I would say the Whiteline bushing kit works best for a daily driven car and a user that is simply looking to replace the busted OE bushings while retaining street comfort. Although, these bushings have been fully track tested.
