Awesome video Mike, thank you so much for the breakdown. Is Eric using the major scale on this one? He doesn't seem to be hitting the root often in the minor position but maybe thats the style of the song(I'm a beginner when it comes to music theory)

Blues based playing like this is based around pentatonics.. do some research on minor & major pent & blues scale on the guitar👍.. or hit me up for lessons.. keep it burnin.. Mike

Great analysis as always, but what is funny as Clapton has some stock phrases, but could't sit down and play the solo from Cream's '68 Wheels of Fire version of "Crossroads" if you paid him to. I think, like a lot of players, you have phrases, Clapton knows blues boxes and adrenaline does the rest. Flying by seat of his pants mostly.
