Tarsal Tunnel is also a rare symptom of hyperthyroid. All joints stiffen up too, so the exercises you've suggested would also be tough.
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
Yes, thyroid disorders can make you more prone to nerve problems like tarsal tunnel syndrome or carpal tunnel syndrome. In that case, the underlying thyroid problem also needs to be managed.

Do you have any input and/or success stories of KT tape helping relieve symptoms from TTS?
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
I know of no instances of kt taping helping TTS. In general, it's a bandaid (almost literally) but I don't think it's good at fixing much of anything.

I will try some of these stretches but my feet have been cramping up bad for a couple weeks...I am now in excruciating pain in my ankles and bottoms of feet and toes...they have been numb at the bottom for about 6 years and about 8 years ago i was told by my podiatrist that i had tarsal tunnel and fortunately the office got another doctor in the office who thought it would be best for me not to have surgery seeing i have fibromyalgia and said that i could end up with CPS chronic pain syndrome and suggested i try injections and other treatments so i did and for the most part i have been much better unless i overuse feet by standing on them until now and i drive for a living and walk and climb stairs and it is back with a vengeance and i am just lost when it comes to things to do for relief ...please help me if you have any other suggestions and in the meantime i will try a couple things you said! Thank you and God bless you for helping others outside of office hours!!!

Properly fit shoes / orthotics and the exercises are a good starting point. See where those things take you and then see what's left after implementing those things. Good luck!

May i ask a question. Since November 2022 I've had seen 5 difference podiatrists .for pain on the ball of my feet. Mild pain is only when i wear shoes i had tried different shoes insert and stretching, cortizone injections, Stem cells. . Not pain when i walk barefoot it and i dont had numbness or tinggleness. I did mri it cameback negative for any pathologies and same thing i did emg cameback negative for TTs . Now my podiatrists thinks is TTS. I dont have pain on my ankles or heels or arch. Im confused can i get your thoughts. Please
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
This may be an over-simplification, but have you tried shoes with a wider toe box?
@alejandrotroetsch9715 Жыл бұрын
@@More4Life thanks doctor for replayed back bless. Yes I only wear hokas extra wide one zide up and Altra shoes. My podiatrists thinks is TTS . But MRI and EMG cameback negative. I don't have symptoms. Like tinggleness or numbness or pain or swallow on my ankles. My neurologist don't this is TTS . My main issue is wear shoes and walking. Dull mild pain but annoying. A little be or burning. I had lost 65 pounds..I'm on low sugar and carbs diet since march. And also.low vitamin B6 diet

@@More4Life sorry may I ask what oversimplification means ..how can I treat it. Thanks
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
@@alejandrotroetsch9715 I meant maybe I was over-simplifying the problem, but sometimes just wearing wider shoes can make a remarkable difference in ball of foot pain, particularly if it's just on the big toe side or the little toe side.
@More4Life Жыл бұрын
I would assume they've checked for bunions. Have you tried wearing toe spreaders? amzn.to/44Km3Qt

Interesting - I alwasy heard that when you walk, you start with landing in a supinated position, then move to a pronated position so you push off with your big toe. But you said the opposite.
@ginnytilby6 ай бұрын
Also when I look at your achilles during your heel raise, they are not straight up and down. They are pointed down towards each other, making a V. Is that supposed to be that way?
@ginnytilby6 ай бұрын
I've been wheelchair bound - really really bad symptoms in both feet, and the ankle braces have been really helpful. I'm just starting to feel like my feet are getting a big more stable. I love the approach of this video - focusing on strengthening of the arch! Thank you.
@More4Life6 ай бұрын
You start in supination, prorated during weight acceptance to absorb impact, but then you go BACK into supination in terminal stance to make your foot a rigid lever to push off of. The problem with tarsal tunnel syndrome is often going too far into pronation and staying there too long.
@More4Life6 ай бұрын
@ginnytilby no, I'm a supinator so my feet tend to do that, but they "should" be straight up and down.
@ginnytilby6 ай бұрын
@@More4Life ah, I wondered if you were a supinator. I'm a supinator too, I always wear out my shoes on the outsides. So I never thought that I pronated too far, but here I am with tarsal tunnel syndrome. I did a lot of digging and took a foot type test and turns out I have such flexible unstable feat, that they over supinate AND overpronate. So when I tried to start wearing barefoot shoes without transitioning over a period of time very well, it didn't go well for me haha. 🤦🏼♀️

Its kind of ridiculous to tell everyone they are probably stretching their calf muscles wrong and then not to demonstrate the correct way to do them.
