Dairy, my mainstay growing up and obsession as an adult, especially cheese. A couple years ago I abruptly stopped all dairy after learning of the horrors of dairy farms! (Already vegetarian X50+ years). The result was that my allergies disappeared, including hay fever and indigestion! I miss Gorgonzola, but keep discovering vegan substitutes and enjoy my Diamond Almond Milk daily. Loving my vegan life at 77 years old.

I finally completely cut out dairy and meat. I feel so much better after less than 2 weeks! Several years ago I started what I thought was a healthy lifestyle. I did heal rheumatoid arthritis but the crohns just wouldn’t improve past a certain point. I cut out sugar, all artificial ingredients, preservatives, gluten… I make everything homemade… it was life changing but I still had stomach issues, low energy, hormonal, head aches… the only animal products I eat now is eggs but I have a feeling I’ll eventually cut them out too. I’m just so limited on what I can eat and eggs have easily digestible nutrients that I need at this time.

And it wont give u cancer in 5 or 10 years or block your arteries to your heart with thick greasy saturated fat, which is exactly what youre doing every time u eat animals or their byproducts. Your eating real food, keep it up. I have diabetes type 2 sovi fast, exercise, and go lchf diets. Yes i avoid process foods, grains, bread, sugar, seed fats and fried foods. Yes its hard but maybe in the long haul it will be worth it. Keep doing your research and follow your instinct.

@@disnalee My husband ate a lot of rubbish before i met him. junk food. take-aways. drank solo lemon and coke every day. He never thought it would make him sick. but it gave him diabetes type 2. Doctor put him on medicine. Still sick. He tried keto diet. did ok for a while then got sicker. Doctor got worried. Said he MUST go on twice a day injections of diabetic medication. That was hubby's biggest fear cos he HATES needles! He lasted just over a year then at start of 2021 he was so sick of injections all the time he agreed to read Dr Barnards book called "REVERSING DIABETES" and Dr McDougalls book "THE STARCH SOLUTION" then agreed to try it. He had to give up meat and dairy and oil....and he ate the meals i cooked all based upon high carb, low fat, whole foods. We were quite scared to start cos we had been indoctrinated to believe complex carbs like starches and fruits were bad for diabetics! But we kept going and within a few weeks he felt SO MUCH better! His digestion finally worked perfectly, he slept well, and his numbers all improved. Turns out he LOVES potatoes & vegetables & oatmeal & rice & beans & yams & pasta! Plus he was pretty thrilled that he could have rye BREAD with his meals and fruit after & in between meals! Well his doctor checked him every month and after 2 or 3 months, the doc took him off the diabetic injections! We couldnt believe it. Hes so happy! like a new man! PS...As a side bonus we both ended up losing 20 kgs each this year as well! Good Luck to you.

I went mostly plant based back in March. I went mostly SOS-Free plant based by late April or early May. I have been mostly organic since the beginning of July & my health gets better & my weight gets better everyday because of these incremental improvements. I've been doing Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen & 21 Tweaks and I am dropping pounds faster than I was when I went plant based in March & I was down 60 lbs before starting Dr. Greger's stuff religiously, but I'm down 19 lbs thanks to Dr. Greger's recommendations in less than 2 weeks. Mind you that was after a week eating SAD because I was on the road visiting relatives in another state & it was nearly impossible to stay plant based on a family trip especially with family get togethers & no kitchen available to use. I gained 12 lbs in that week on the SAD.

Sauerkraut is fantastic. I have always loved it and a while back I found out it has TONS of beneficial bacteria. How wonderful is it to find a food that one loves to eat AND is tremendously healthy for oneself? Highly suggested. And it doesn't take a bowlful either. I feed it to my dog as well for his gut and I just take a big spoonful or two every night at the same time.

Since they haven't answered you, here are my thoughts. If you are very healthy the raw organic honey, in small amounts, might be ok. If you have some health issues, I would recommend avoiding it. It is sugar/fructose and needs to be processed by your liver. And the worst thing about it is it will make you HUNGRY. Hungry and likely for more sugar at that. So you are keeping the sugar addiction in your life. Good luck on your health journey. PS Make your own sauerkraut!!

So, it's better to eat plants and fruits these migrant workers piss on while they are harvesting or wipe their rears before picking your bananas. I make my own fermented vegetables. Everything is chopped small and I use it as the salty component on my food. So I'll cook like some beans and rice or potatoes without salting during cooking, and then sprinkle the kimchi or whatever it is on the food and mix it up. Then you get little pops of flavor and salt without overdoing it on the sodium.
