Producing your own songs has never been more affordable than it is right now. Thanks to software, algorithms and technology you have access to the same kind of gear that used to be exclusive to fancy studios and cost a premium to use. This means that for the price of a few studio sessions, you could just build your own home studio that you own and can create whenever you want to. Whenever inspiration strikes! But what gear do you need? A side effect of the technological advancements is mass production of home studio gear. With all these options comes overwhelm and it’s easy to fall into the trap of good marketing and high price tags. But what if there’s another way? What if there’s super affordable gear you can buy to make your songs sound the way you want them to? Today, I’m going to share my best recommendations. Not just because I’ve personally used each item I’ll list, but also because these are tried and true gear legends of the home studio kingdom.

Usually the songs on an album are the result of an artist's creations during a season of life. This means the songs can all speak to a similar set of themes, ideas and topics. So the aim of an album name is to try and sum up the big story/concept that all the songs pull from when they were written. It's not always like these, especially today. But traditionally, an album is like a "book" with the songs inside being like "chapters." Fun stuff! (I think 🤓) is that part of album sequencing Nathan?

Sadly its not as simple just using the laptop people have already as Ableton (The first DAW many start using because it comes free with most keyboards and audio interface) does not run at all on My 2018 HP probook. I could not even make a simple song with just 3 tracks. Reason 12 however works perfectly on the same machine but that cost $400, so No you cant just use any laptop and think your gona be able to make music, it's not that simple.

Totally understand where you're coming from. Sorry Ableton and HP didn't sit well together! It's true that not every computer out there will be ideal to handle music creation software, but I truly believe where there's a will there's a way. I think there's a work around for most situations with all the resources and help out there now. Simply trying to calm any nerves beginners have, thinking they have to spend a lot of money on fancy things to create their music. Hope it's a great weekend for you! 🤘🏻

@@NathanEswine Ableton is supposed to run on My Laptop, they even email Me a long list of supposed fixes but did not work. People might say My computer is not powerful enough to run Ableton but that would be wrong as Reason 12 and MPC beats run fine.
