I have a theory that weight training works. You use your neck almost whatever you do, which you realise when you get a stiff neck. Sagging in this area is not really realated to the skin but whatever is going on under the surface. But also the overall health benefits from any exercise keeps you young and therefore makes you look younger. My jowls are more prominent when I don't get enough sleep; it's all connected.

It's so true, tension in neck muscles makes such a difference to the whole lower face.

This is true. However be careful not to over stretch you neck when lifting heavy. Cardio in general increases circulation every where in the body and it’ll help tighten skin, and the one no one wants to hear , reduce sugar consumption , it sticks to your skin like glue. Watch any video of people who gave up sugar and lost weight and you’ll notice how much of the fat comes off the joules and neck area. I had accordion neck from borderline obesity, lost fifty pounds and avoided any hanging skin by losing the weight slowly through the course of two years , sweating a lot, cooking a lot , weight training and running. But you know what’s better than all that ? Surround yourself with people that appreciate you and laugh as much as possible. Love yourself

It absolutely does work. The best thing you can is work out with weights. Too many people do very little for their overall body and health. They eat and live but not much else and they wonder why they age so fast.

You tell it straight and you are "Honest". I'm 73 and have been using Retinol, NuFace, and Red light tx for about 10 mos, along with years of a good skin care regimen. I was hoping to see my skin tighten in my neck and jowls but don't really think there has been a significant difference. I appreciate that you said surgery is the only way to get rid of sagging skin and not give false hope to those who already have it.

For me, microneedling did wonders. I do it at home. I did both 0.25mm and 0,5mm., and 0,5mm definitely helps sagginess. I didn't see significant difference with 0.25mm. I use hyaluronic acid. Also, you won't see the results immediately. I noticed a big difference over the course of a year.

I don't think the brand really matters as long as it's "real needles". Just buy reputable brands with "real needles". And everyone is different. I saw some youtube videos, doing 0,5mm microneedling every week with very good results but that would be overkill for me. You definitely have to be careful, watching how your skin reacts and don't overdo. I did once a month for a couple of times, then only once per two months. That was enough with 0,5mm for me. Like I said, I didn't see the results immediately but later on I was shocked to see how well it works. Also there is a dermatologist who explained that microneedling at home is the best skin rejuvenation in general, and works much safer and better than lasers etc. Only reason people don't promote is there is no money to be made by affiliate links etc. I think 0.25 mm is a lot more forgiving but I didn't see much results, since the depth didn't stimulate collagen production.

Really interesting video, thank you. Red light therapy has definitely made a difference in my case, but I think the facial massages on Aysel's channel (the one who originally showed the salt water towel method) are amazing and have helped my sagging so much. She has so many videos on this area and they have made such a difference, particularly in stretching the muscles in my neck and the depessor muscles which cause the corners of the mouth to turn down. The tightening of these muscles, particularly in those of us who spend all day sitting at a computer, contributes so much to sagging jowls and the neck area.

When I consistently use my Nuface and a 500w red light panel I do notice positive results, they aren’t huge but I definitely look better. Two other tools I swear by. - a Dermal Tone facial exerciser, which hasn’t been made in decades, and a Dermawand, which I especially like for the mouth, nasolabial folds, upper eyes and the brow area. I try to be consistent in using a c serum am and a retinoid pm. Consistency is the key! In the past when I have had Botox and/or fillers I didn’t use the tools (other than red light) so as not to ruin results, but those treatments are expensive, so I’m back to home tools. Early 60s, btw. Your channel is terrific, good content, thank you!

Thank you for this video. You mention that you’re now using the Ziip every day. However I have heard and read on various threads that microcurrent shouldn’t be done every day because there is only so much energy the cells can absorb and that they need time in between treatments (like every other day), for the cells to do their thing. Of course I don’t know one way or the other, but it’s confusing when there is seemingly opposite advice out there. 😊

I find the ZIIP very gentle and I don’t use a conductor gel with it so I pretty much use it daily now as part of my routine. I would stick to the manufacturer guidelines on your device though. If they say 3 to 5 times a week then find a pattern that works for you. The maximum recommended for the ZIIP is 6 days a week. Sometimes I just drop a throwaway mention into a video and then realize I probably needed to explain myself more fully!

Hi Clare, I love all your videos and am so happy I discovered your channel. I wanted to say you a big THANK YOU for what you do! Especially I like the interviews with different professionals. On your channel I learned about Maysama, Do Not Age supplements, red light therapy and incorporated those in my life 1 year ago. I clearly see result from the red light therapy on my hands, on face - hard to tell to be honest. I'm doing facial exercises for my face and neck and can feel that muscle under my chin got stronger - it's a place where double chin forms. I also did 3 micro needling treatments combined with the TCA peel at the office and see some results - skin surface became smoother and small wrinkles are less noticeable. But no drastic changes to my overall appearance. Given that it's not chip to do it at the office, I'm planning continue to do micro needling at home myself. They gave me a face was with glycolic acid, which I use daily - my skin feels and looks very smooth, it's a great chemical exfoliator. I'm very impressed by this face wash and will continue to use it. I also googled, that glycolic acid is making skin thicker. I'm using it on my under and upper eye leads too. I discovered Adipeau cream on your channel. Am using it for 8 months by now under my eyes to treat hollows there, but don't see noticeable results. I have few questions for you: 1). Do you have a video on how to accept aging by any chance? I think I saw a header of one of your video's on this topic, but am not sure and cannot find it back. I'm trying to mediate and exercise - it helps to recharge and destress. But my aged look weighing so much on my self esteem. I would love to know how other people are dealing with it. I feel a disconnect between how I feel inside and look on the outside (I feel like I'm 30, full of energy). 2). You did a Tixel treatment some time back, I watched your video on this. I'm considering to do it to treat wrinkles around eyes. Would you recommend to do it (not taking price into account)? I'm 46 and started to see very noticeable wrinkles under my eyes and on my neck 1 year ago. I'm using tretinoin cream daily on my face for 8 years by now, but was not using it under eyes and on my neck (blindly followed advice of one you tuber that those areas will not tolerate tretinoin and didn't tested it myself - so stupid of me, blaming myself now for this mistake every day - I tried it now and can tolerate it very well... such an idiot I am). 3). It would be great to see video like this one but about volume loss , especially in the under eyes area. Thank you! I always look forward to your videos!

You raise such an important question here - thank you. How do we accept aging in a time when there is so much telling us we shouldn’t be showing our age. I made this video a while back which relates to this but I think it would be worth re-exploring Why, at 50, I look my age and so do you kzfaq.info/get/bejne/itV_l9J9ptTQaXk.html I haven’t got it all figured out myself and don’t think I’ve found the right balance yet. I do know that in exercising and getting physically stronger I have started to worry less about facial aging because I feel more energized. I feel Tixel was probably a good option a few years back. It gave me a slight lift which was helpful but nothing close to surgical results. Did you see my video last week on injectable options? Dr Emmaline was saying she was getting food results under the eyes with polynucleotides. I will make a note to do something like this specifically for the under eye area though ❤️

Thanks for this round up! I didn't see a difference w OneSkin. I'm interested in peptides for skincare, but skeptical: they are very large molecules that the skin won't absorb unless there is a delivery mechanism of some kind. Have you ever looked into this? I would be interested in your take. To the best of my understanding, peptides are way over 500 daltons. I'm not sure but I think you have to do some fat-coating (liposomic) or concoct something else to deliver the peptides.

I've gotten to where I only use my OneSkin the days immediately after doing microneedling. It's the only moisturizer I trust in those days, and does seem to have a noticeable effect. I can't tell though for sure if it's adding that or just the cumulative effects of having done more microneedling sessions since adding it, which would have happened even if I hadn't added it.

I purchased Buelene sunscreen, but I found it to have a strong white cast which my cream foundation doesn't correct well. Also, what is your opinion about selecting a sunscreen which one can reapply during the day and not look chalky? BTW, I have been doing the towel/salt stimulation trick and think it has helped. Thanks so much! I always learn something helpful on your channel!

The Bluelene sunscreen is zinc oxide based (I only use zinc oxide sunscreens now) and they do tend to leave a slight cast that shows more on some skin tones and types than others so it is a bit of a case of trying a few different ones to see what suits you best. I'm going to do a video dedicated to zinc oxide-based sunscreens on June 16th and I'm testing a few different ones at the moment. Versed used to do a brilliant tinted mineral sunscreen but it doesn't seem to be available at the moment. Aveeno also do a tinted mineral one which is worth a try. So glad the towel trick helped! It's incredible how many people have told me it works. So good to find a free solution!!

Microcurrent definitely gives you an immediate effect that lasts about 24 hours. I can see a glow and a lift right away. However, after using it for a couple of weeks, I also noticed the lines around my mouth were deeper, and I have a feeling that it can be easy to strengthen the wrong muscles and cause more sagging or perhaps it’s a little fat loss. I don’t know, but I stopped doing it because I was afraid of damage. Although I do love the immediate result and if I still have the device, I might use it for very special occasions only. I sold my mini though.

I’ve done a video on microcurrent before where I talked about avoiding the stronger devices. I find the ZIIP a lot gentler and don’t use a conductor gel. Like anything I think it’s totally possible to overdo it and tip into negative results. It’s great that you were monitoring your skin and paying close attention to how it was responding ❤️

You and cosmetic dermatologist Stephanie Kapple are the only anti aging podcasts that tell it like it is and is completely honest about what works and what doesn't work. The only thing that I question is the towel reduction of turkey neck. Because you can have turkey neck for 2' separate reasons. (1) From I er weight and (2) when you are not overweight and just have aged sagging skin. In this case hitting your face with a towel is not going to get rid of turkey neck. I just feel bad about spending al lot of my money on face devices that DON'T WORK.

So glad you find the channel helpful! The towel technique does sound questionable but I have had a lot of viewers tell me it’s helping their neck so I figure it’s free and worth a try. I have a feeling there’s something quite powerful about the combined friction on the skin and gentle pounding of the muscle. Totally hear you re the Easter money on devices. I have done so much of that. ☹️

At 71, I have a definite turkey neck. I suspect I'd fit in your category 2, although I used to be overweight. I've been trying the towel/turkey neck treatment recently. Somewhat to my own surprise, it does seem to help. I don't think it's going to make my turkey neck go away completely, but free reductions are nice. The technique may have a mild toning effect on the underlying muscle plus increasing circulation, which may be what's causing any improvement. I hear you about spending money on things that don't work, although I've been fortunate on those as far as at home face devices go.

To clarify, every person has TMJ. TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint. The temporomandibular joints are the two joints that connect your lower jaw to your skull. More specifically, they are the joints that slide and rotate in front of each ear. They consist of the mandible, which is the lower jaw, and the temporal bone, which is the side and base of the skull. What you meant to say is that you have TMJ Disorder. TMJ Disorder is a disorder of the jaw muscles, temporomandibular joints, and the nerves associated with chronic facial pain. Any problem that prevents the complex system of muscles, bones, and joints from working together in harmony may result in TMJ Disorder.

Hi! I thought to share that I have olive skin and just after 5 uses (10 min max) of the Omnilux Led light mask I noticed a light, diffused patch of hyperpigmentation developing on one side of my face. I stopped using it immediately and after a recent visit to a dermatologist, she called it a "pseudo-melasma" type of pigmentation. It's very light but it's there and I'm very frustrated by it. It was definitely triggered by the red light therapy. It was a mother's day gift from my daughter and we had the hardest time explaining the reaction to the company. They refused to take the device back and we had to go through a consumer protection agency in order to be able to return the device and get a refund. If you have olive or darker skin... I'd proceed with caution.

I had heard by Dermatologists online and Dr V who formulates cosmetics and focus on dark skin that people with tan/dark/deep skin should not use just any color of light therapy. At my mum’s age we just really focus on her health and muscle strength which are intertwined. She still works so it can be challenging to find the time but she exercises every day and eats very well. They cook from scratch each day. I’d like to see her up her protein intake, but that’s it. She takes a few supplements and doesn’t like to spend a lot of time on skincare. She uses micellar water and OneSkin moisturizer and that’s pretty much it. I tell her to wear sunscreen more often!
