Ginno! If I move to the PH, I will take a serious look at Aklan. Thanks to you and Dazel!!

Wow! Thank you Franco! I know if you visit Aklan, you will enjoy its natural beauty and the people. Some of the friendliest people in the Philippines. Tourism is the province main industry because of Boracay Island. Aklan province has a population of around 600,000 people in its 17 municipalities (towns). Around 100k living in the province capital of Kalibo. Aklan is one of the few provinces in the Philippines that does not have a city. If small town living is what you are looking for; Aklan is for you.

Funny watching you eat the pork that you described as bacon because I can still smell the bacon I made for BLT’s for lunch. Its like have “ smell-o-vision “ on my laptop….. I agree Dazel….all chopsticks are slippery if it’s not made from wood…. But I’m more like Ginno, like to wrap in lettuce and dip in the sauces…. Thanks for showing us an sweet little restaurant and mini shopping trip…!!!! “hope the kids like the shirts…!!!
@dazeltv13512 жыл бұрын
Haha...perfect timing on your "smell-o-vision". :) Dazel really tries hard on using chopsticks; she really wants to learn how to use them.

Wow, you even have good Korean food in Dazel-Land. Brother G, you guys were feasting....! What a great deal.... 700 pesos. I grew up in LA when Korea Town first started near Western and Olympic Blvd's. I had some really good Korean friends and we'd go to some of the first Korean restaurants in LA - like Dong Il Jong or Woo Le Oak. It warms my heart that you can get such good, authentic Korean food in Aklan.

The owner of Matzip, Korean gentleman, is super nice too! He actually cooked for us one time when we first started going. He showed us the proper way to cook the meats. More Koreans are moving in Aklan province; opening businesses in Boracay and Kalibo. There are direct flights from Korea to Kalibo daily. Koreans are now the number one foreign tourist arrivals in Aklan province.

@@dazeltv1351 Wow, that is amazing. My best friend growing up is a Korean-American. His name is David. He is now living in Seoul. But, he grew up with me in LA. Bro G, you and Dazel have so much in Aklan. Including Korean food..... ! I am going to check out Aklan as a place to retire. California is way too expensive. Many blessings, Bro G and Dazel. Let's give thanks for our many blessings....

@@dazeltv1351 Thank you, Brother G. I am going to check out Aklan and a few other places to determine the best place to settle. It helps that Aklan is planning to build a medical center there.

@@rosstrade Brother C, I did the same thing a year before I moved here. I was able to narrow my choices between Boracay and Baguio. There are so many areas to choose from in the Philippines; it really just comes down to your lifestyle preference. Asia Pacific Medical Center Aklan Inc has a Facebook page. I’ve been following the hospital’s build progress; they will open in 2023. You can see on their page that this will be a top-notch hospital. They already started taking applications for hospital employees.

Oh man! Korean BBQ is the way to go! can't believe the price for the all you can eat, here in WA state that will run you 40 bucks per person easy. Now you guys gotta find a good Thai restaurant. Peace!
@dazeltv13512 жыл бұрын
We had a nice Thai restaurant in Kalibo before the pandemic; didn’t survive. There is an outdoor night-time food park that recently opened and one of the booths is Thai food. We will check it out soon. It’s been so long since we ate Thai food.

I was beginning to wonder if the bacon was going to win the battle. Looks like a great spread my friends. I would have to carry my own chopsticks around though, the metal ones are such a pain to use vs. wood ones.
@dazeltv13512 жыл бұрын
Dazel agrees; metal chopsticks are a pain to use. We love eating at Matzip. Take care our friend.

My wife loves the bamboo furniture and quaint setting of the restaurant but I was astounded by the price because a meal like that in Socal Koreatown would have cost $30 or more.
@dazeltv13512 жыл бұрын
Bamboo furniture is common in Aklan province; not only in restaurants but people furnish their homes with bamboo furniture. That’s what we like about the restaurants in Kalibo; good food at reasonable prices. They actually just opened two outdoor food parks in Kalibo that serve a variety of international food in food kiosk; we will be vlogging them soon.
