I make my own moisturizer. I use part distilled water, part aloe vera juice. I boil my distilled water and add rosemary leaves. I let cool. Strain, add aloe vera juice to my rosemary water and add peppermint essentials oil drops. Helps with itching and adds moisture and shine. Love your ideas. When my locs mature, I will try the conditioners.

I have joined the sister locks community on 7/2023. I worry about my hair being dry but since I am a newbie, I don’t want to use anything that I may regret later. I love Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla leave in conditioner spray. I used it before to refresh my twists in between washes. This was before I got my sister locks. I spritz water on my hair but I feel that my hair needs a little something special to keep it from drying out too much. I appreciate whatever advice you can give me. Thanks!

I will be getting microlocs in January and wanted to know: 1 is it ok to bleach my hair ( I have been wearing it blonde for about 4 years). And if I do bleach it will it be ok to use watered down leave in conditioner when I do get the microlocs
@EnToiBeauty
@EnToiBeauty 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes, you can bleach your hair before you loc. However, keep in mind that bleach is very drying and can cause breakage. If you bleach your hair to a high blonde (pale yellow), it'll most likely shed a lot and lead to locs breaking. But if it's a darker blonde (close to copper) then you won't experience much shedding and breakage if it's properly taken care of. Yes, you can use a watered down conditioner and use it about twice a week. Hope this helps.

I got halfway through this video and I was going to go to the comments and just type in just use 10% of your conditioner and 90% of water and you're there but I decided though long winded, to watch until the end and that's what you winded down to. I'm only two and a half months in but I have done a ridiculous amount of research and I've taken a little bit from many here on KZfaq and then use my own common sense. I do Spritz my hair with water daily and my hair has loc'd crazy quick even at 2.5 months in and I owe that to the water. When I get to my year mark I have no intention of spraying any leave-in conditioner of any sort in my hair because it's still is going to create buildup. What I will do which is something I saw from a male KZfaqr is take a old bottle of conditioner and use about 30% of whatever conditioner you are into fill the remainder with 70% water and then use that squirt bottle and condition your hair like you would as a loose natural. Then rinse rinse rinse. It makes sense and little to no residue. I just can't imagine how spraying conditioner on your hair daily does not create buildup. It's literally scientifically impossible if you consider that you are spraying the product on your hair in small increments and those small increments don't add up. Impossible!!! Suggestion. You took way too long to get to the point, there was a lot of unnecessary talk and the cuteness wasn't really that cute. Also, in my opinion, this is really bad advice. This is the epitome of product buildup.
