@@mashenka6189 idk but I assume a little of both. lol … I have a small podcast and I try to keep up with every movie, (seen 124 so far) but after a while gets tiring especially if you know a movie is 💩. It’s dread and it feels like a job. But most movies are average so it’s not so bad. The tiring part is going back and forth to the movies, writing a review , recording the review. Editing your review. So yeah, probably feels like a job but a job you love for the most part.

Joseph the only reason I am going to see this version of the color purple is because you said so. I am such a fan of the book and the original that respectfully I bought a ticket and gave it away Intentionally because I wanted to support it no matter what but I thought you do not mess with perfection... however because you have given it the green light and I trust you I'm going to go see this film now. Let me fully explain my copy of the color purple it has been read so much that the spine It's completely unbound and the pages fall like leaflet bound and the storage is inside of Tissue paper, a ziploc inside of another purse bag. so this is really really big for me to cave. LOVE YOU BOTH❤❤

I dragged my sister and my cousin to the movies to go see Poor Things solely based off of you guys' review of it and all 3 of us thought it was AMAZING!! I love the comparison to "if you've been driving a Honda and never sat in a Bently...go sit in a Bently." LOL so true!!

Nick, I made an effort to see La Bête at a festival here a few weeks ago after reading your glowing Venice review and I ADORED it. It's so inventive and intriguing and playful and fun. Léa Seydoux is tremendous. Thank you for recommending it! I can't wait to see it again. I have a list but my other two major favourites this year are Fallen Leaves and Houria. I also want to spotlight the Spanish film, Creatura, which is so intelligent and thoughtful. Were you able to catch that one at Cannes?

My favorites - Blue Jean, Oppenheimer, Joyland (Pak), 20,000 species of bees (Sp), Housekeeping for Beginners (Maced), The Beasts (Sp/Fr), Lakelands, Paris Memories (Fr), Full time (Fr), Rodeo (Fr). I haven't yet seen American Fiction, The Zone of Interest, All of us Strangers, The Color Purple and Poor Things which all might feature. Tar, Till, The Whale, Marcel the Shell with shoes on and Drunken Birds(Can/Fr) I watched for the first time in 2023 even though they were first released in 2022 and are among my favorites.

For the longest time my favorite movie of the year was are you there god it’s me Margret . My new list is as follows 1) monster 2) are there god it’s me Margret 3) The holdovers 4) past lives 5) Oppenheimer 6)bottoms 7) Godzilla. Minus one 8) Barbie 9) killers of the flower moon 10) scrapper 11) killer 12) Eileen 13) May December 14) fair play 15) Royal hotel A lot more that I want to see so this list could obviously change but that is my top 15 for year based on what I’ve seen , really want to see , iron claw American fiction ,poor things and several others all in all not a bad year for film despite what people would have you believe, there are very good movies out there just have to know where to look . Great work guys hope you had a great Xmas and wishing you and your families the happiest of new years .

Social justice warriors of course what did you expect! Sometimes these two are funny to watch but most of the times it feels so off so melancholy especially Joseph like he doesn't really want to be doing this. They've been doing this for so long and still very few subscribers compared to many others doing the same thing I wonder why.

@@spartan_a1176 I think Nick tries really hard and actually does have potential and shows leadership skills. Joseph is just eye candy but it's not enough. Nick needs to collaborate with others to develop the channel further and have Joseph on sometimes as a guest because he doesn't want to be there anyway does he.

Past lives is the most overrated movie of the year. It may be good but it is being pushed as a perfect movie. I thought there 15 great minutes in it being surrounded by 100 mediocre minutes. This should have been a short film.(and would have been a shoe in for short film of the year. The cinematography was also amazing in to so I see the praise but that doesn’t make it great)
