Best New Business Class in the Skies? ITA A330-900neo from Rome to New York

There's a new way to travel to and from Italy in style, and it's called the ITA Airways A330-900neo. Onboard, you'll find my sleeper pick (pun intended) for the new best business class seat of any European carrier (and certainly the best flying between the US and Italy, Emirates included). But ITA also refreshed its economy and premium economy cabins - and they're no joke in terms of passenger comfort and onboard technology. We flew back from Rome to NYC in August and I think I was on the same Aircraft. ITA A330-900 was really good, clean and new. My son and I were in the back in the Economy and it was really great experience with everything. And just add to that, like how you noticed the small little details, I too noticed a touch of style, in color and the small little details on the seats, like the little Italian Flag, and the seat leather and color. It was really comfortable and neat! I gave them 5 starts, also not to forget I LOVE the blue color of this Airplane! Thanks for sharing!

The Ferrari sparkling wine you’re drinking, is not a “Prosecco”! It is a completely different wine. It’s called “Trento DOC”, produced as a “classic method” like Champagne or Italian Franciacorta😉

We flew business class from LAX to Rome in August and it was honestly the best flight we have ever taken in our lives. This has been the only flight taken where I wish the flight was longer. Great video!

Ferrari would kill you if they heard you call their product Prosecco 😂. It is called Spumante, at it is a much more refined sparkling wine than Prosecco.

A Prosecco is indeed a spumante, which translates into "sparkling wine". Ferrari is a spumante as well, but it's a Trento DOC. It's the grapes variety, winemaking process and region of production making the difference. ;)

I received an upgrade from Premium Economy. I was shocked and very impressed with ITA in both classes. Better than i would expect. The Alitalia attitude is gone. I had the beef and it was good. They were gracious, but you have to ask. The espresso was perfect...especially when paired with limoncello! ITA has potential, and i look forward to transiting in Rome for other Europe and beyond. FCO has change a lot !!!

Trip report very well made. I’ve just preferred the 339neo with last Alitalia livery. Alitalia brand was much better, in color scheme too!!

Very nice review. One suggestion would have made it really great. Show us the entire menu. I would not have eaten any of what you did. It would have been great to see other options.

I have to sawy it was a great experience for me. I was upgrade from premium economy, I have flown ALITALIA and i will saw ITA was good. the attitude was gone. JFK to italy was premium and the return was business. Premium was better that Delta on a domestic US flight. Rome was a great airport, not the mess it was in the past. Better than Toronto or Amsterdam. I spent time in HANGER Lounge and was better than LAX SKYCLUB! I am American of European heritage (non Italian) i felt at home. They might not be Lufthansa, but they will entice you. AZ is the code not the destiny.. ITA is so much better. there premium economy is better than domestic First Class on the best the USA has. The plane was clean, but the lav might not have been dried out since Sao Paulo where it arrived from. For me it was a dream. And i did connect from a domestic flight. and even there it was good. Food was good. I had the same except the fish... I had the beef. I am a fish guy but the smell after takeoff i was not into it. I have lady flight attendants that were really nice. Not a Panam on Delta quality, but excellent

@@flaps1019 we got upgraded on the way home. The seats were wonderful, but the flight attendants kind of disappeared after the main service. Ignored our call buttons. We were not impressed.

Yep - good observation. A little bit confusing but EI-HJP is registered in Ireland and bears an Irish tail number (i.e. EI- instead of I-). ITA Airways is leasing the plane from Air Lease Corporation, one of the largest commercial aircraft owners (if not the largest) in the world. If you're curious as to why they reg'ed the aircraft in Ireland, SimpleFlying has a pretty good article on it

ITA is Lufthansa now. No FIRST CLASS CABIN. LH only allows FIRST only on Swiss and well LH . NO CHAMPAGNE. A disgrace. BUT your video is excellent. How can you young guys produce such fantastic stuff? For me the best EU bizclass is on Air France. Not to mention their LA PREMIERE FIRST CLASS.. By the way. Alitalia had a very nice first cabin on their B-747 called TOP CLASS

I flew Business on now bankrupt Air Italy and it was bad. I did fly ITA from Bari to Rome and unlike many European airlines that serve only water (!!!) ITA served a beverage. As to the Rome Hilton it is a disaster!! Our first room stank of cigarettes. Our second room had no hot water and was luke warm. There was not even enough water to have a bath. It's an old hotel. Needs to be gutted and remodeled. We left Rome on Volatea in a different Terminal which was gorgeous. $1,600 in Business roundtrip is a bargain. LOL it's about $1,500 in economy. I will check this summer. You could not put your ITA miles on Delta? I just noticed we did not get any miles.

Totally agree on the Hilton... and that's right, I wasn't able to credit any miles to Delta. I think you can only get Skymiles if you book through Delta (i.e. must have a DL flight number even if it's operated by ITA)

We tried to have dinner at the Hilton also. It was so noisy, full and depressing we walked to the airport terminal. As to the Tunnel, it can get very hot in there in the summer. There is one other hotel near the Hilton inside the tunnel where they have tiny rooms. But reviews not that great either. If I ever go back I will try the newer hotel with the tiny rooms. No way would we return to the Hilton.
