For the price of your flight and the same for Swiss Air on the same route…Swiss is absolutely superior!! Polaris food is awful on all United European flights. BTW, if you were trying to use United’s new Mileage Pool System you would not be able to use any Star Aliance connecting flights as your new Pooled miles are only for United Flights. Total ripoff coming from United. And can never be returned to your original Mileage Plus account. Read the fine print…line 23 on their Pool Site.

Thank you for another solid review. I really like the way you review things fairly. Some of the other reviewers on KZfaq are a bit crazy in their expectations. The food you get on a plane can never be like a 5 star restaurant. What is important is the seat and entertainment in my opinion. It’s their fault for not eating in the Polaris lounge before the flight. That is great food in there.

I loved this video! I just booked a roundtrip Austrian Air Biz BOS-VIE w/ points for December. 140K +$140 per person... I was kind of regretting it after I read about some of the negative reviews... Your very thorough and fun review totally helped me to feel at ease with my decision. Yes, it still is a lot of points for the old plane for an 8 hr flight - but as you said the quality of the service + food, non-stop flight, + UA Polaris Lounge will make up for it. Thank you so much! p/s/ I loved the chia pudding part - that's exactly what I do when I travel!! 😁

The 777X is 10 years behind the A350. When the 777X comes into service you will then see an A350 Neo possibly with RR Ultrafan engines. Boeing STILL behind the black ball.

It is not - it's from a company called Level8. Seemed a little more affordable than Briggs and has worked well so far. It has been dragged across many a cobblestone street and the wheels are still intact lol

The bit where you romanticize flying in economy was odd. Most of us "slumming it" back here are just normal people. No need to be so poetic about it.

I've been watching the dev of 777X for years. One thing I always wonder and am worried is they made the cabin interior 10cm wider by making the wall thinner while maintain the same overall width of the fuselage as the current 777. Will this make the plane less safe? I hope not.

Advice for a nervous first time flyer?
@flaps10197 күн бұрын
Hmm… I’m not great at giving advice 😂 but here are two things I’d say: 1 - if you look at the statistics, flying is way safer than car or even rail travel by a wide margin (you’re more likely to get struck by lightning than die in a plane crash) and 2 - for your first flight I’d try to find the biggest plane you can as they generally handle turbulence a little bit better in the air (i.e. less bumping around). Hope that helps and would love to hear about your first flight when it happens! 😃

Boeing’s 777X is not certified yet. And their GE Gen9X turbofan engines have not had their technology proven/matured yet. Just like with the Rolls Royce Trent 1000 turbofan engines on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the PW 1100G geared turbofan engines on the Airbus a320neo, GE’s newest GenX turbofan engines will have teething issues on Boeing’s 777X.
