In this episode of Abbey’s Kitchen, Abbey is sharing some of her favourite food products that she picked up at the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo.
(1:24) Popped Chickpeatos
These are baked green peas and chickpeas and are almost a cheesy snack. They have 130 calories per ounce, 3 grams of fibre and 4 grams of protein. Easy to eat, light and crunchy.
(2:12) Watusee Chickpea Crumbs
These are perfect if you’re looking for a gluten free breadcrumb. In an 1/8 cup 4 grams of fibre and 5 grams of protein.
(2:45) Messy Monkeys
These are so fun for kids. There are sweet and savory options and each bag has 2 grams of protein and 1 gram of fibre.
(3:32) Modern Table Rotini
This is a complete protein gluten free pasta. In one serving (2 ounces) you have 11 grams of protein and 2 grams of fibre. Abbey is a big fan.
(4:45) Think Thin Protein Oatmeal
A huge trend at the conference is that everybody is loving oats. One bowl has 200 calories, 10 grams of protein, 6 grams of fibre and probiotics.
(5:09) Vegetarian Traveler Toasted Bean Blend
Unlike traditionally having to cook legumes and beans, these are poppers that can add a crunch to your salads and soups. A great way to add some more protein to your meals.
(6:10) Noosh Almond Protein Powder
Abbey loves this product. This is their 100% almond protein. For people that don’t digest whey really well, this is a great alternative. One pack as 120 calories with 21 grams of protein and 5 grams of fibre. Most protein powders don’t have fibre so this protein powder will make you feel a bit more satiated.
(6:59) RX Nut Butter
Abbey is a big fan of the RX bars, but abbey loves these butters because they’re packed with simple ingredients. These are great for bringing around if you need extra protein. One pound has 190 calories, with 9 grams of protein and 2 grams of fibre.
(7:59) Unreal Peanut Butter Cups
The reason Abbey likes this brand is they don’t use any artificial flavours or colours. These are vegan and only 5 grams of sugar.
(8:51) FlapJacked Might Muffins
There are probiotics in these muffins and all you have to do is add water and microwave. You get 20 grams of protein in one muffin cup.
Abbey is really excited to eat her snacks! If you enjoyed it give the video a thumbs up and leave a comment with some cool snacks that you’ve seen on your grocery shelf.
