Found this from the suggestions that came after the Stevie Wright documentary..Found that from watching every Easybeats performance I could track down because that singer was SO fun to watch and they always looked to be having a blast. Having said that, it is a bit sad to see the man here knowing just a short while later he would become so ill. Same for seeing the great Del Shannon. Two under-appreciated (in the US, anyway) talents and great personalities at that. Thank you for sharing this! :)

Thx Donnie......I recall all of them BUT I was after the clip right on 0:22 ie 22 seconds in. It's a robotic figure with neon lights (kinda like TRON) - if u know what I mean. Btw AFTER DARK was an excellent music show, I remember staying up late in my early teens waiting anxiously for the latests tunes & interviews. Great job. Cheers

This is a public comment section. Anybody can challenge and question a statement that somebody makes. You can't lay down the rules as to who can answer to you and not. The point is, Stevie Wright has lived in Australia for most of his life. As much as he appreciated his first few years in England, the fact is, he is an Aussie and has been for almost fifty years. No English man speaks with the Aussie accent that you can clearly hear on Stevie Wright. He is more Aussie than English. Fool.

He has such sad 😭 eyes here 😢😢 . You just need to hug him and tell him that he was not alone. That he was Loved and that he was needed if not for him self then it was his son he needed to have him in his life ❤❤❤. So sad 😮 please remember him with respect he deserves that much. Yes he made some Mistakes in his life, but he paid for them the rest of his life 😢😢😢 And don't we all make mistakes in our lives?? I know that I have. Some people are unable to find their way out the mess they accidentally find them selves in. Poor Stevie was one of them.😢😢😢 He didn't have the support of anyone that he needed.😢😢😢 Where was his mother??? Or the wife who was so much in Love with him 😢😢😢😢. Tossed him out with no cares about what was going to happen to him. He Loved her . I don't know why. She was not good enough for him.😢😢😢😢 This was another thing that would cost him his life.😢😢😢 It is a great day when he was able too get back with Faye Walker who was the love of his life 🎉🎉🎉🎉 She stayed with him in good times and the Bad times. And his Son ❤❤❤. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I respect the fact he was born in England and migrated over here as a teenager. However, most migrants do cross over and become a part of the new chosen territory and became a part of that country. What I find interesting is that, inspite of the fact he has an Australian accent and has had the majority of his success in Australia, you still have this need to assert the fact he is English. The fact is, he is a living legend in Australia. I find it interesting that you needed to correct Suzmi.

Yes he was . And not having a clue what was going to be happening to him. He would have been better off dealing with his drug addiction by himself. Where was his parents. Ex wife , his friends anybody to help him. I kind of think that it was what ever he started drinking that pushed him over the edge. There was two things that he should have never done. 1 was jesus christ superstare, where he was introduced to the drug heroin. That man should have had a very bad reaction to it so Stevie would have seen how dangerous it was. And 2. Never checked himself in to the Chelmsford private hospital where he went through hell and had to jump out of a window to get away from the doctor's that he went to for help for his drug addiction. Very sad life after that. Was he ever happy at any time in his life.n n

At the Chelmsford private hospital where he went to for help believing that they were going to. He trusted them. It's sad that 1 of them gave him irreversible brain Damage with more drugs and and electric shock treatment's and had to jump out of a window to try to get away. But was found and taking back CHAINED to his bed and started the treatment over again. The 2 rehabilitation center released him to soon and got into some trouble trying to break into a house just 2 weeks after. No one knows what happened to him there. But he was arested for having drugs on him 3 weeks later 😢😢😢😢 No one knows what happened to him at the 3 one 😢 but his life was ruined for the rest of his life 😢😢😢😢

I think that he could have been able to get help for his drug addiction if he had known that he was a diabetic and took insulin. That would have taken care of some of his health problems. The other thing that would have had been beneficial to him would have been not to have checked himself into the Chelmsford private hospital 😢😢😢. Where he went through hell 😢😢😢 Check out his life story. The doctors there gave him 14 Electronic shock treatment's 😢😢😢 a cocktail of drugs that put him in a sleep sleep which caused him to suffer from brain Damage. Because he was not able to get any air to his brain 😢😢😢 It was not the heroin or alcohol that was responsible. That is what he tried to cope with everything that happened to him afterwards 😢😢 When you go to at least 3 different rehabilitation centers and still not receive any help that is very sad 😢😢😢😢

And I don't know what they mean by the Vex treatment. Wet clothes. And something about a washing machine and dryer.. what the hell were they doing to not only Stevie wright but the other people who were unlucky enough to have been there also. 😮😮😮😢😢😢😢 ❤❤❤

Hi can you please tell me what you know about what happened to stevie wright when he was in the Chelmsford private hospital. I live in the USA and we didn't get any thing from the Australian music scene. We never got anything on the easybeats or Stevie wright. I was looking at a documentary about his life story. It was called the Stevie wright life story. So much to say. And it said something about the Chelmsford private hospital. And what happened to him. Was that the rehabilitation center where he jumped out of a window to get away and broke his ankle. Dam no wonder that I don't trust doctors. What is a Vex treatment and wet clothes and washing machines and dryer.

Bon was in a bubblegum band from Adelaide. Stevie was a very humble guy, but no one can deny that he was the first real rocker, with his own individual, electric style, to lead a band in Australia. He was 16/17 yrs at the time. The inspiration l am referring too, was the freedom to let go, and express yourself, how ever you chose.
