Now that most of the soldiers are gone and the chest is away from the soldiers, Davy saw the chance to take back his ship and killed Mercer. (Besides, he never liked him anyway)

I remember watching pirates of the Caribbean 4, and the whole time I saw Black Beard running for his life, trying to stop himself from dying as fate planned, I could just hear it in my head, that haunting voice "Edward Teach, do you fear death?" sorry Disney but you will have to work really hard to come up with a Villain that can top Davy Jones. we all fell in love with him.

Davy Jones & Barbossa have to be my favorite villains. Blackbeard was not nearly as epic as the other two. Sure he had the ability to control a ship with a sword but compare that to immortality.

Jones and Barbossa could of hid the medallions and chest far far away and be immortal for basically forever. What did Blackbeard do? He got greedy as hell and basically killed himself. Salazar didn't make it up a rope in time, also he probably could've survived if he swam faster before he drowned.

Davy Jones and Barbossa are my two favourite characters of POTC. :) I don't think anyone could possibly dislike Barbossa, he's funny and adorable with an incredible sense of humour. Jones is a different case though, he is likeable because of his tragic story, and trust me, I would very happily go and cut Tia Dalma/Calypso into tiny little pieces for what she did to him, and at the same time you gotta love him because he is such a badass, even though he is sometimes a little too cruel... and of course, the accent is just amazing too. :) And, of course, as I am quite fond of the sea fauna, I totally love the design too. :D

@@ravanathewindagocannibal7213 when he says ‘I am the sea’, he’s referring to the fact that he basically has control over and rules the sea (due to the Dutchman’s power as well as having control of the Kraken), which means that anything that happens at sea, Jones has influence over or at least knows. In the context of the scene, he’s dismissing the claim that Turner has drowned or died at sea, because Jones, being the sea, would have done it himself.

Honestly, looking back now, I think what truly made Davy Jones scary to most people wasn't because of his appearance. But rather his actions. It's what he does that made people and other pirates fear him.

Bill Nighy who voices Davy Jones was born in Surrey however he was raised in Scotland and his mother was Scottish so that's where his fairly decent accent originates from.
