Ethan Crane I think he’d probably do better on a different show like the amazing race than he would on survivor. He just can’t make it past early merge in most seasons, people will take him out the first chance they get because they feel threatened by him. His social game and maneuverability also isn’t great, if you saw him in 34 it was like his ego took over for so much of it.

DonFNM How is it not fair? If you get voted out, you should lose the game. Survivor is ultimately just a social game. Advantages, idols, challenges, catching fish, and strategy are all just a means to an end. If a player can’t leverage those things to get people to vote how they want, that player is bad at the game. Ozzy lost because he’s a strategic dunce and he can’t convince the other castaways to keep him around. That’s nobody’s fault but his own. If anything, production gave him too many opportunities to get back in the game after the tribe had spoken.

Elijah Culper theres a difference between calling him a bad social player and calling him a strategic dunce which is simply not true and completely disrespectful to Ozzy as a player. Ozzy’s strategy had nothing to do with the social game. He knew he could win the game by challenges alone. They voted ozzy out time and time again not because he couldn’t “convince the other castaways to keep him around,” which is such a terrible over simplification of the game, but because they knew he a massive threat in challenges that he could go on an immunity run and get to final three without there being a chance to vote him out. Also, had they not voted ozzy out in 4th he would have 100% won the game. Sophie stood no chance of beating ozzy in a final tribal council. While survivor absolutely is a social game, calling ozzy a strategic dunce is a disrespect to the game of Survivor as much as it is to Ozzy as a player. Your comment made me cringe

I Think Knot “I’ll just win all the immunities so I don’t have to actually play the social game” isn’t really a viable strategy. It didn’t work for Ozzy in any of his seasons. It didn’t work for Brett in Samoa. It didn’t work for Culpepper in Second Chance. It’s never worked for Joe Anglim. It didn’t work for Kelly in Borneo or Colby in Australia. Dean still lost on Island of the Idols and Challenge wins didn’t clinch the win for Chrissy in HHH. The only time in forty seasons a player has managed to win the game solely by winning immunities and ignoring or being left out of most of the votes was Mike Halloway in worlds apart. Even winners who did frequently win immunities like Tom Westman, Bob Crowley, and Kim Spradlin were able to manipulate votes in a way Ozzy never could. Most of the time, they won immunity when their heads weren’t on the chopping block. They could actually strategize and play a social game that didn’t rely on a dozen consecutive challenge wins. Their immunities were just a way to make sure they could pick anyone to go home at any stage in the game. If you set your game up so that every single episode you need immunity or you will get voted out, you are playing a bad game. If a key part of your strategy involves removing yourself from where the game is being played so you can just go fishing and do puzzles, you are playing a bad game. I don’t really respect contestants who muck up their social game so badly that their fate is constantly hinging on their ability to make a house of cards, balance balls on a plate, or run an obstacle course. Challenges are there to give cover for players to make a move or to buy time to find cracks in an alliance. They shouldn’t be viewed as an alternative to controlling votes. Ozzy is a strategic dunce. He’s played four times with the same basic plan and it’s never worked out for him. If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, then Ozzy’s strategic game is nuttier than squirrel shit.

In about half of the seasons, the person voted out on day 38 were the most deserving contestants to win. Too bad this was partially rectified only at recent seasons with the fire-making challenge. Tony would be voted out at final 4 at WAW without the fire-making challenge.

@James Bond Coach would have lost against Ozzy, Ozzy had to do more then Coach did to get to the end, Coach basically just sat around the whole time with an alliance and didn't really have to struggle. Ozzy was fighting to stay in the game day after day the whole time.

Alucard Coach actually played rather deviously to keep his alliance in check using God to unify them. He built strong bonds with them especially with Edna, Brandon, and Rick. His only fault was failing to embrace his villainous ways at the final Tribal Council. But yes, Ozzy would have slaughtered him there had they both been finalists.

He was voted out literally 3 times and given 2 chances on Redemption. This was his least robbed season, if anything, it was mapped out for him to win due to the Redemption Island twist in mind and him being a challenge beast. He lost fair and square in the final challenge.

Yeah Ozzy is my favourite survivor ever, I think he’s the type of survivor a lot of the audience want to win.

Ironic how everyone this season wanted Ozzy to win, considering this last season, someone who did have survival skills, and spent 26 days on the Edge of Extinction just for a chance to fight his way back into the game, did fight his way back, and actually managed to win, yet everyone hates it.

@@andydeaton5215 People like Ozzy because, from an entertainment standpoint, his performance in challenges and watching him explore the reefs and spearfish, and climb trees effortlessly IS impressive. Some people just don't care that he is extremely arrogant about it. Back in Cook Islands, a mutiny put him in and the few tribemates he had in a 4-8 minority, and his physical prowess in challenges made him the hero of the Aitu 4 when they needed it most. All these years later, and some people just have not let go of that Hero version of Ozzy that was one vote away from Winning Cook Islands.

He did win easily to having the extra strength guys but he was very dominant when he went into any challenge. He should have own once but his personality lost it. That’s why he changed it.

Matt in Redemption Island and Christine in this season along with Ozzy were all challenge beasts when it came to redemption challenges. It's something about being there longer that helps you do better in the challenges.

In my opinion if he won this season he would have been the least deserving winner of all time. He has played well in the past, but he got voted out twice this season. He spent a majority of the game on redemption island, and had no strategic decisions .Sophie was at least a driving force in the majority alliance while Ozzy did fuck all strategically and just won challenges.

Ozzy asked the Savaii tribe to vote him off pre-merge so that he could defeat Christine and even out the playing field upon the merge. 2nd time around was because he was viewed as a threat, but it didn't matter because he's amazing in physical challenges.

people say that his social skills are bad and that hes too arrogant but nobody brings up how bad cook island has messed his chances at his future games. Because of cook island he is too infamous, hes a total monster and everyone knows how threating he is. I hate that people bring up his arrogance and social skills when in everything its his infamy that gets him in trouble they know hes just way to big which is why they tried early for SP and why they had to blindside him for FvF. Everyone survivor knows if he was pitted with them in top 3 that they would never stand a chance.

In Cook Islands yul made a final tribal agreement with someone that then lead for him to win. If it wasn’t for the deal, ozzy would have won, as the person said that he would have voted for ozzy without that deal.

I don't know what you're talking about. Sophie was a badass. She. Beat. The Challenge Winning God. In a challenge that was catered to his victory by production as it was nearly identical to the challenge he won at the Final 5 in Cook Islands. She also called Coach a little girl. And I don't know what you mean about her being too serious. She clearly loves this game. She broke into tears because the tribe was contemplating voting her off at 5 when people like Rick were flat out ready to throw in the towel to Ozzy, but she was willing to keep fighting. Also, love him or hate him, Coach played an awesome game this season. He made an Alliance of five at the first night and brought that Alliance all the way to the finals. His strong social play on Edna on Cochran is the reason they never turned on that core Alliance. Yeah, Albert sucked, but you're always going to have at least one goat in a final 3. Redemption Island, Nicaragua, Gabon, and Edge of Extinction all had WAY worse final 3s that this.

The problem with ozzy isn't that he can't be strategic its that hes already known through out survivor history to be a giant monster and threat. Thats why he almost came out on top on cook island. Now they dont even give him a chance anymore because from the start HE IS the biggest threat, to not get backstabbed and or blinded sided would be impossible for him because only a dumb enough survivor would attempt to enter top 3 with him.

Ozzy losing wasn't because of Cochran's sabotage. He made it to the final 4 anyways and was better off on redemption than in the main game. His downfall was his own when he lost to Sophie in the final immunity challenge. It probably would have been the worst move in the show's history giving him any kind of opening to make it to the finale.

Adam promise to Yul if Jonathan vote out before Adam, Yul could get Adam jury vote, Yul get Jonathan jury vote because Yul convince Jonathan to rejoin the Aitu 4 because Jonathan made an enemies between 2 tribe, Jonathan allies with the Aitu 4 to vote out Nate, plus a final 2 between Yul and Jonathan but that never happen after Jonathan vote out. Yul get Sundra jury vote because she former Aitu 4, I bet she make very difficult to choose between Yul and Ozzy because both them carried Sundra through final 4 before she lose her fire making again Becky. Yul get Brad jury vote because both Asian brothers, Yul get Candice vote because how smart, and calm he answered to her when they clash each other between Yul, Jonathan and Candice about the food, instead of Ozzy because after winning challenge Ozzy didn’t talk too much again Raro allies. Yul deserved to win Cook Islands. He was the head of the Aitu alliance and was the reason Jonathan flipped back in the first place to take out Raro.

Sophie played a good strategic game while Ozzy didn't. From the merge on Ozzy never was in the majority alliance or on the right side of votes

The truth is out there...and IM a huge part of it...more and more. I will continue to find the truth...and its mostly in me so it won't be as hard as the many many decades I had no idea what the truth is.

I hope I never watch any Survivor or tv..definitely not unless TV brings back music tv...thats about the only tv I really usually enjoyed. ....BUT I can watch movies & music here...so to me really TV doesn't exist any more....like many aspects outside me..and also like the old me that didn't enjoy me.

i don’t think you can say that for this season. this is one of the most unique and fascinating strategies. he was one puzzle away from a unanimous victory without even having to have a social game at all. even tho he didn’t even make final 3, this is my opinion is hands down one of the best games we’ve seen played on survivor. everyone knew they stood zero chance against him in the end. he didn’t wrong a single person, dominated challenges, provided food for him self and others, found an idol, you name it. the strategy of his game this time was literally near perfect. only flaw was that million dollar puzzle

idk it sounds somewhat interesting but I feel like there would too many similar archetypes. The great part of survivor is there are a bunch of unique different people but I feel like all the challenge beasts could just blend together

you’re looking at it all wrong. he took advantage of how the game worked that season and played one of the games we’ve seen. if he had just won that last challenge, it would be a unanimous win and probably the best game ever played. but the one loss and people like you think he was full of himself or something. when in fact, he was humble, respectful, and a provider to everyone in the game.

@@iamjp1 Ozzy made that move to vote himself off before the merge for completely selfish reasons. If you're trying to fool yourself into thinking he did it for his tribe, stop it! His entire tribe agreed to vote off Cochran. It was the most practical move for all of them. But Ozzy essentially said in a confessional, "this is MY game, and it's MY opportunity to make a big move." So he strongarmed his entire tribe to go along with his plan. A plan that benefited noones game but his own. That's not being humble. That is the definition of showboating. They merge, and what do you know, Cochran flips, and the entire tribe gets Pagonged, all because Ozzy HAD to make a big move.
