As a Mexican, I can confirm that our version of Santa Claus doesn't live in the clouds with Merlin and all the other things. The filmmakers made it all up. It's a typical Mexican movie from the 50s to 80s that tended to have everything and the kitchen sink in them and a long running time.

I don't watch, I have it in the background, and even without visuals, I laughed so hard my face cramped up. You guys are amazing, and to think this video is over 6 years old now. Isn't it always like this? You have a funny/dumb character in a regular movie/TV show, and everybody likes that character, because he contrasts the rest of the more serious/intelligent cast. Then the Hollywood guys learn that that character's popular, so they decide to give it its own movie/TV show to get more money, but because now the idiot doesn't have a straight man as contrast, it doesn't come even close to being as funny as the original one. That's how Christmas Vacation 2 or the TV show Joey got made. I'm honestly surprised that Patrick Star from Spongebob didn't get his own show yet.
