Ok, so you are making me jealous again! lol. Nice job and great to see this type of upgrade. I will be very eager to see how these perform for you. In my case, I have not yet gone for the 96" Rhodan that I want which will take 3 AGM batteries if I want to keep the expense down. However, 3 AGM Group 31's weigh total of 202lbs. Cost is $600. If I go to the Lithiums, it would be $1500 but at a weight advantage of 70lbs. In my case, my boat being a wide beam 25' Grady can handle the 70lbs. However, over time, I think once the Lithiums come down in price, that is the way to go for sure. I have 2 AGM Duracells for house batteries now going on 7 years and still pass the Carbon Pile load test, so they are still as strong as they were the day I got them. For your case, the weight is a great advantage for you for sure! But if I can shave off weight here and there, it does help! Keep the videos coming and can't wait to see the results what you experience in comparison.....
@OutOnTheReef3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Robert really appreciate your advice and you are right the price will come down a lot with time and my case this batteries were $800 about a year ago and I was able to find them for $500 so that is about a 30 to 35% off in one year. Wait one or two years and you going to see that price drop to $1100

No you can not charge lithium battery’s with a motor alternator. The battery has so low internal resistance it will take all the power the alternator can supply and cause it to overheat and burn out. Hello, thanks for the video! I ordered the minn kota ulterra 112 lb 36v 72” shaft and planned on getting these batteries after seeing your video. Minn kota states their 112 lb motor has a max draw of 52 amp. These lithium batteries states that their max amp output is 50 amp. Have you noticed any performance or operating issues with your trolling motor? Thank you!

With the charger, you don't have to disconnect the batteries in 36v series? you can just connect the charger to each battery and leave it right?

@@OutOnTheReef Ya I am just doing research before I pull the trigger on these. I have been looking at both Chins and Ampere TIme 12v100Ah. Ampere Time has told me there have had customers have issues when using the battery with trolling motors and do not recommend it at this time. Chins has stated no issues and recommend using heirs for trolling motors. The only issue I have with that is that they are the exact same battery under a different name. Its a lot of money to have the battery take a crap after a few uses. How much usage have you put on your trolling motor after installing them?
@OutOnTheReef2 жыл бұрын
@@keonos1 I have used the trolling motor about 20 to 25 times and the battery has never gave me no issues even charging it with the noco charger But in my case I have 3 36v batteries But I don't see why would it be a problem with the 24 V it should be the same But it's my experience They've been working awesome and the price is just right for batteries they're supposed to last close to 6 to10 years cap.

the charger voltage is always high but the batteries retain less then 14.4 cap so you may be ok , because the Lithium batteries have a BMS that controls overcharging , hope this helps cap
