Good for you for going to the less touristy pubs! That 'U Zlatého tygra' reminded me of many of the old pubs from the communist days. Even in those days we had the best beer in Europe and dirt cheap and you could always get basic good food there too. The routine was to take a beermat from the pile on the table and put it in front of you. That means you want a beer. If you don't want any more you can put the beermat on top of your empty glass. Or when the waiter comes with more just put your hand up and say 'zaplatím, prosím' (I'll pay please). They always used to bring a big black wallet to your table for you to pay. The marks on the piece of paper - four up and down lines then a diagonal one through them for the fifth - has always been the way they count the beers. I'm in my sixties and now and that's how it has always been done. Na zdraví!!

Hey Bob, thanks for your input and insight on how these traditional pubs in prague work! We really enjoy the afternoon that we spent in them but definitely felt like ducks out of water! We couldn't figure out how to tell them that we did not want anymore beer! It was a great experience and we were thankful that we were able to visit these traditional pubs. Thanks for watching and thanks for leaving a comment. Cheers!

Hi! Local here. I really like the fact that you visited "U zlateho tygra". Fun fact, president Havel took president Clinton there back in the days - there is a photo hanging on the wall. As for the raw meat, it's actually really delicious. My trick is to always take a show afterwards which decreases the chance of anything bad happen significantly! In case you want to try it next time.

@@TravelwithNJSteveandSue The raw beef is actually a tartar. It's definitely not a hamburger meat. It's very common all around Europe's pubs and restaurants but every country has it's special ingredients. And of course, the Czechs have the best... 😀😀😀 You should definitely visit some other places outside of Prague which are less tourist trap like...

@@pavelprunner5367 Agree! Would love to go back and visit the non-tourist areas to get a feel of the real county! Prague was very cool but had so many tourists it felt like Disney World! Thanks for the clarification on the rare meat! Cheers!

Ha ha ha I wish I could have stowed away in your bag, i would have loved this place, Michelle can't drink though but I can 😂 How much did the place cost that they kept bringing you beers? We hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving, enjoy the rest of your week 😊 ( sorry to be late, work has been a bit overwhelming)

Hey Mark, don't apologize, I appreciate you watching whenever you can!! Converting to US dollars those beers cost about $ 2.50 a piece! As a matter of fact, every place went to a pint of beer was 2 to $3 once converted to US dollars. It was cheaper than water, which is not free at European restaurants .Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too! Thanks for watching. Have a great rest of the week!

Oh that beer and those plates of yummy food. The steak Tartare ( the raw meat dish) is a delightful meal believe if or not. A culinary delight. The meals did look ever so delicious. Loved how at that one pub the bartender kept pouring the beer unasked. What a hoot. Great tour, I'll keep those addresses noted for my eventual possible visit to Prague. Loved this a lot. 🌺🍺🇳🇱🙋‍♀🇳🇿

Good morning! Glad you enjoyed the video! It's funny but here in the US even as children we were always told to never ever ever eat raw meat! But I know that many do especially in other parts of the world. Thanks for watching. Hope you have a great week!

@@TravelwithNJSteveandSue the meat is actually ‘cold cooked’ as the marinade and spices preserve the meat. Raw fish dishes are treated this way too. It’s great to have so many difference in cultures world wide. 👌🍽️
